I've been to a lot of Chinese restaurants, even in China and Taiwan. This is really an excellent restaurant. If you know what you want, and it is not on the menu, chances are extremely good they will make it for you and it be some of the best you have ever had. Just ask, they are very accommodating.

Hands down the best dim sum restaurant in san diego! The parking lot usually fills up and cars inching forward, following carefree pedestrian leaving restaurants in the plaza to lay claim to a scarce parking spot. Once you get situated and make it in the restaurant, it's a fairly easy non-intimidating experience for a newbie to dim sum. Pictures of... More

We've been coming here for years for dim sum and dinner. Both options have been awful. We recently re visited and enjoyed their dim sum. There are no dim sum carts. You mark your desired items off a paper menu and they bring out the dim sum items when ready. Our favorites included: black bean short ribs, chicken feet, shrimp... More

We were in the area shopping at a local Asian market and decided to eat (again) at China Max. We were not disappointed! Great food and service. Very large portions to share and 2 dishes were more than enough. The popularity of this restaurant is evident with a crowded dining room.

We stopped in for late lunch with friends and were seated immediately, service was excellent with very little wait time and our food was excellent and far more than we could eat.

Fantastic food and service. My favorite is the Honey Walnut Shrimp, so good. Been here three times and was never disappointed. Great service as well.

Go for the dim sum. Served daily, it is fresh, hot, and delicious. You will think that you are in Hong Kong, where the Cantonese cuisine is king. Don't miss the dim sum, though they do marvels with seafood.

Food here is always good, we enjoyed Dim sum but they don't have the carts anymore. This means everything is fresh but if you just want a lot of choices in front of you it's not the best. That being said, if you know what you want, it's very good and the prices are pretty good. Service can be a... More

I find the dim sum at this restaurant pretty good, tasty and generous in size compared to other Chinese restaurants. The service is a mixed bag as some waiters seem to be unhappy in responding to customers while most are attentive and friendly. The place is clean and brightly presented. And I find the price of each dim sum dish... More
