On a one-night stay we ordered Chicken Wings and a Gem Salad to take to our room. Both were excellent. The restaurant, just as the rest of the property, was austere, brightly lighted, and corporate, but the bar was nicely designed. Breakfast the following morning...was amazing. The Biscuits and Gravy, with an added, perfectly cooked, sunny-side-up egg was more than ample, with three whole biscuits! The sausage gravy was silky, rich, and delicious. The accompanying sausages that I elected for were not greasy at all and far superior to most breakfast sausage offerings at restaurants.More

I've visited here several times before and since the remodel, things have changed. I had both lunch and dinner here on my last trip and it was just not as good. Fries were soggy at lunch and sandwich was just OK (ordered something that was...supposed to have poblano peppers and I swear they were just red and yellow peppers). Dinner was presented quite nicely but the taste was just OK. The apple sorbet (not on the menu) was excellent though.More

The sushi chef was very friendly, helpful and the food was delicious. Small selection of sushi for sure, but i think that ensures quality.

Our family of 8 ate here on Christmas Day. They only offered the Lounge menu but the appetizers and burgers were delicious. My son also loved the baked cookie dessert. I loved their old fashioned! Service was also great. I ate here a few years...ago and it was good then and is still good now.More

The Del Mar Marriott recently underwent a renovation. While there are many things about it that are very nice, I really don't like what they did to the dining room. There used to be cozy booths along the windows which have all been removed. The...tables and chairs that replaced them are cold and uninviting. The menu has dramatically changed and is simply run of the mill. The Burger was good but not better than you can get anywhere else. Casey, our server, was excellent but other than that, there's nothing special about this place and no real reason to go there unless you're staying at the hotel.More

Beautiful ambiance. Modern. Neutral colors. Multiple flat screen TVs around the dining area. Service extremely poor. There was a High School banquet going on in the banquet facility otherwise, the main Dining Room was empty except for we 3. The bar had a few people...seated there. It took 40 min after we ordered, to even get bread. The waiter Kevin, was very nice but scarce. When the food finaly arrived, it was tepid. Not hot. My cousin called the Manager over and respectively voiced our above mentioned complaints. She apologized and took away our dinners to do a redo of our dinners. Food disapointing and not worth the price. They took 30% off final bill. Even so, still not worth it. Never go back.More

The service at this restaurant was non-existent. Whoever was bartending on Friday 8/9 at 4:30pm was aloof, inattentive, and unpleasant. I sat at the bar for 10 minutes and was never approached. It took me flagging someone down to actually get some service. The restaurant...was not busy and now I know why. While the hotel and restaurant are beautiful, the poor service ruined the overall atmosphere.More

Walked over from the Residence Inn. They told me I would get a 15% discount for showing my room key. Sat down at 6:20 hoping to get one drink in on the Happy Hour that ends at 6:30. Several servers looked directly at me, but...did nothing. At 6:28, two fellows sat down next to me. The server immediately brought them a sushi menu, chopsticks and napkin. Then ignored me and turned away. Another server came shortly and took their order. He asked me if "everything was all right". I said "No! I don't have a menu nor has anyone asked me for an order." He actually provided pretty good service...until I was finished. I waited a few minutes, then finally laid my credit card on my empty glass. Waited. And waited. After 15 minutes the quite good sushi chef asked if "everything was all right." I said "No, I've been trying to pay for 15 minutes." Meanwhile 3-4 servers were having quite a conversation, ignoring all customers. The sushi chef went over an talked to them. He brought me the bill and I showed him my room key and asked about the discount. He said "sure!" He brought the check in about 60 seconds...with no discount, despite me asking less than a minute before. Once again I couldn't get their attention from their conversation and the sushi chef had to, once again, ask him to come over. He said "oh, sorry I forgot." Right. Despite sitting down 10 minutes before the end of Happy Hour, neither drink was at Happy Hour price either. So, Sushi was 4 stars. Service was zero stars. Not likely to return despite staying here all week. :-(More

While visiting San Diego we discovered this restaurant. The food is amazing and Chef Tom was great. I asked if he could make my pasta dish vegan and it was packed with mushrooms. So savory. Part of our group had the sushi and they said...it was phenomenal. The Sushi chef was hilarious (I don't remember his name). The cocktails are sooo delicious. I'm always looking for new and tasty cocktails and their "Signature Drinks" menu is superb. I only got to take a picture of my first drink because afterwards I just forgot. They have so many signature drinks that we didn't get to try. Can't wait to go back. We drank the: Bangkok Bucker ~ Kaffir lime & lemongrass infused vodka ~ ginger beer ~ lime ~ Thai spice butters Smokey Paloma ~ tres agaves blanco ~ union uno mescal Joven ~ rosemary honey ~ grapefruit ~ lime ~ soda ~ rosemary salt rim Mexican Firing Squad ~ donJulio blanco ~ angostura ~ peychaud's bitters ~ pomegranate ~ lime ~ sumac rim 😍Lavender Lemon Drop😍 ~ ketel one citron ~ lemon ~ triple sec ~ lavenderMore

We had drinks by the pool supplied by Arterra and they were very good with prompt service. We also had dinner on the last nigh of KaaBoo for a party of 10 and they did a fantastic job. The food was just as ordered, tasty...and service good. Its nice to have this in the hotel. The bar was very utilized and this was around 11 pm. I love that they did a KaaBoo pre-party as well on the patio and at night the patio with the firepits and drinks were a fantastic way to chill before going to bed.More

We looked at the menu on line, and decided that a quick trip to Del Mar for dinner was doable. The place is much bigger than we anticipated and we were greeted by the most cheerful, helpful valet (Dennis), who indicated that valet parking was...only $3 (a bargain compared to other locations), and would save us a long walk. He also handed up a coupon for 20% off of our meal (which more than paid for the parking). Once we were seating we noted that the meal was going to be a "California casual" affair, as it took several minutes before someone came over and offered us water as our waiter "was off getting ice cream for another table". Once our server re-appeared from his ice cream safari, he was very pleasant and helpful in helping us choose our meal. The Shashito peppers were outstanding and a large portion could serve as a meal. The "airline" chicken dish was well prepared and tasty. The pork loin was good, but (as with most pork loin dishers), a little on the dry side (Bobby Flay is probably the only chef who know how to make perfect pork). The prices were reasonable (especially with the coupon). Arterra is recommended, as long as you are not in a hurry.More
