Had checked out a couple of other pubs and decided on The Field. Dropped in one afternoon after a rainy outing at Balboa Park. We ordered a couple of hot Irish Coffees to warm the bones. Perused the menu of typical Irish fare and of course chose the Fish and Chips. The fries were hand cut along with three nice... More

Authentic Irish pub in the Gaslamp Quarter. We had a great waitress upstairs that recommended the Boxty & Fish & Chips, both of which were excellent. Cold imported beer on tap didn't hurt either!

The food was excellent. Had potato skins for an app and the Irish sampler for dinner. The Shepherd's Pie was the best I have ever had. Nice portions of meat. The stew was a perfect blend of meat and veges. The service was top notch. Would definitely recommend if Irish faire is what you dare.

Great atmosphere and beer. Food is good although a little pricey for a pub. Every other Sunday they have Irish dancers for entertainment.

This was a fun stop for us as this is a true Irish Pub with all of the music and atmosphere. Our waiter was Irish with the true accent and great service. Irish music in the background made it that more of an experience. Only got the sampler which was good but the drinks were great.

Good and quick service. A bit bizzare that the guy at the entrance wanted to see my picture id (I'm 58 years old!), but I guess rules are rules. Great pub, I didn't try the food but the drinks were great.

Nice bar etc Ordered the beef Shepard s pie. My God. There was so much salt in it it was unreal. No flavour due to the salt. Said it to waiter and got the blank not me dude response. When the bill came the waiter said "took the pie off" and ran away. I didn't ask for the meal to... More

Excellent Irish food. Staff were great. Definitely popular and for a good reason. Inside was great seating. But outdoor was good too. One of the best in the G. District.

Irish food is famous for potato lovers and this place will not disappoint in this regard, overall the food is OK. The service OK. Nice Irish pub decor. Great location in the middle of the gaslamp district. Many TV showing sports.
