This place is one of San Diego's finest dining establishments. My wife & I made early reservations to ensure we got a view and were rewarded with a window seat. The food and service are exquisite, and the wine list is expansive enough for all tastes. Parking is at a premium, so valet, Lyft or Uber to get there. This... More

The mushroom bisque is exquisite. I need to figure out how to make it so I can enjoy it more frequently!!! The macadamia crusted barramundi was done to perfection. And the cactus pear sorbet in the dessert trio rocked! My husband had the crab timbale and the scallops and prawn - very good, but I think my meal was better.... More

There is a published article of BUCKET LIST things to do in San Diego and going to the high tide breakfast at the Marine Room is one of them. I hadn't been to the Marine Room in probably 25 years, so I was glad to see that it had been renovated in that time to a more modern, light and... More

If you are in San Diego and your timing is right, go for a high tide breakfast, Don't miss it! Check the website for the dates and go early for window seating and a leisurely approach to an extensive buffet. Spectacular buffet, impeccable service, lovely setting, but above all, that beautiful ocean and the views out to sea. This restaurant... More

What is normally a 5 star experience was anything but that on Christmas eve. The Marine room is all about location, location, location. Just be aware that when the restaurant is full, they have special seating up above by the fish tank with excellent ocean view. They ruined our Christmas eve view by making us sit at the bar. When... We had a very nice experience at the Marine Room. We had not been in years and were delighted that the food was better than we remembered. But really... you go for the view. Right on the beach with the waves crashing around you! At night they have big spotlights shining on the water. The birds gather there to catch... More

We came on Christmas Day so we wanted it to be special and it truly was, in every way. Exec Chef Bernard Guillas prepared a sumptuous meal with precision, and plated it as a work of art. Every bite was superb. I hate elk, prepared with many morsels of vegetables so the plate felt like an adventure. My husband had... More

Came with a group of 4 to Marine Room for SD Restaurant week in September 2016. Only the SDRW pre fixe menu was available that week throughout the whole restaurant (which made ordering easy!). Reservation at 7:30, seated around 8pm at a window seat near the water... beautiful. I ordered salmon ($40), the other 3 at the table ordered filet... More

We convened in La Jolla pretty much from all corners of the globe to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had dined at the Marine Room about 10 years ago, and had a wonderful experience, and this time, you can go back. The view is spectacular (if possible, reserve a seat at high tide), but even at low tide there is... More

When moving up my reservation earlier, I got a great tip from the hostess. They open for dinner at 5:30 which is when I moved my reservation to and the bar opens at 4:30. If you get their early and check in, you are likely to get a window side table which we did. The bonus is you can see... More
