After sweet talking our way to a 9:58 seating (10 pm close) we were BLOWN AWAY by the staff! Natalie was our server and she was spot on with all recommendations, quick to tell the history of everything from drinks to dishes and back not to say friendly and cheerful (even given our horrible timing). The even also featured the... More

You have to try the Manhattan a namesake cocktail for the hotel. We shared a big ribeye from grill menu and fries from the bar menu. The food was excellent .

The Grant Grill is an elegant, tasteful spot inside the US Grant Hotel. Breakfast, Lunch, Diner and evening small plates and dessert are served. Service is gracious with being pretentious. Food was farm to table, creative elegant and modern. Enjoyed our meal, would return.

I say pretty good because I judge restaurants in this price category differently than others. It could have been better during my visits. I actually had both breakfast and dinner here while staying at the hotel. Breakfast was good but being the first person at the restaurant and finding bread crumbs already sprinkled on the table and seat wasn't a... More

I had a lunch and dinner here on my last trip. The food was very good. My favorite would be the shrimp and scallop risotto, it was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is very comfortable. A little dark but it's themed with the hotel. It's really nice in the evening.

My husband, sister in law and I went downtown for a concert. We decided to try the Grant Grill. We valet parked at the hotel...flat rate of $17. As we crossed the lobby, there was a small lobby bar set up...live music and great people watching. Our table at the restaurant was ready right on time. The staff were all... More

We ate dinner here before seeing Lauryn Hill perform at Jacobs Music Center. Dinner was perfect from start to finish. My husband was thrilled with his Old Fashioned cocktail. Our salads, fish and duck dishes were beautiful. Our son eschewed the kids menu for the oysters and spot prawn dishes - loved it all. The manager came by to compliment... More

Went here for a birthday celebration and the server and chef made it special. The environmental was classy and tasteful with some great live music and warm informal atmosphere. They serve some interesting cocktails (most of which are a bit sweet ) and the food and wine were spectacular, rounded off with as specially decorated desert. The whole experience was... More

I like hash with eggs on top, and a few fried potatoes.for breakfast. I often order same at better hotels. I ordered it here and got a bowl of vegetable soup with 2 fried eggs on top, and a portion of beef shank underneath. What's this, says I. Hash...that's how we do it here. Yikes!

The US Grant Hotel, in the heart of downtown San Diego, you can find a great restaurant. They serve excelent dishes, and the cocktail bar is great too.
