Arrived with no booking on a busy night. Lady at the entrance was welcoming sorted me a table outside under a heater quickly and efficiently. Service was fast and friendly maybe too much for some eg. regular hand on the shoulder but it was also well judged as I'm OK with that esp.in an Italian context. Fettuccine Alfredo was very... More

Our fist meal in Little Italy was at Trattoria Fantastica. One of the first, if not the first, restaurant establishment since the beginning of Little Italy in San Diego. Warm atmosphere, very good, fresh food and a notable wine list. Margret gave us a warm welcome and a nice history lesson to boot. Most of all it was relaxing and... More

The hostess was cold and acted put out because we didn't have a reservation. She sat us in front of the door and kept the door open. It was 54 degrees outside so we froze the whole time. Our server was less than friendly. Our kids had raw pizza which they wouldn't eat. My angel hair with pomodoro was good... More

It was very crowded on a Saturday night. We were seated in the room were the deli and gelato are located. I was not impressed by the ambiance for spending over $100. The wine was reasonably priced. I ordered the ravioli with the short rib, it was good but not amazing. My friend ordered the fettuccini bolognese and meatball. It... More

Owned by an authentic fourth or fifth generation to the states Italian Family. The bread, the pasta, the wine, the location can't be beat. Save room for desert next door. Love this place.

We ate here twice during our stay in San Diego, once for a quick lunch, where we sat at the front of house and the again for dinner a different day, when we sat upstairs on the terrace at the back. My children enjoyed pizza and pasta along with tasty garlic bead. I enjoyed the linguini with clams my go... More

We went to this restaurant because TA advised there was cannelloni on the menu. There wasn't and the server insisted they had never served cannelloni. I had the Wednesday night special oso bocco and my wife had an eggplant dish. Both were excellent, but did not satisfy my craving for good cannelloni.

This place was great! We had mushroom ravioli and the linguine with clams and ate every bite. Prices are good as are the portions. Our waiter Fabio took excellent care of us. Can't say enough about how we enjoyed a relaxed and delicious lunch.

We recently had family visiting from out of town and took them to Little Italy for dinner after a day on the Midway and walking downtown San Diego. We fell upon Trattoria Fantastica and were delighted by the experience. The fresh bread they put out is to die for and all of our dishes were outstanding. Vince, our waiter, was... More

My husband and I arrived in San Diego late Thanksgiving afternoon and our hotel was next to Little Italy, so we walked and tried to find someplace to get Thanksgiving dinner. we found a few places, but they wanted outrageous prices so we settled for Italian food! Trattoria Fantastica was actually serving roasted turkey but not dressing (I really don't... More
