Sophisticated atmosphere with excellent bistro-like fare. The service was friendly and attentive, but not rushed. The smoked salmon pizza had goat cheese with white sauce on flatbread. A simple spinach salad was served on the side. It was fresh with complex flavors.

We were a group of 5 and we were there for lunch. The restaurant was almost empty except for 2 other tables. We waiting 10 minutes for a waiter, our complimentary broth and a muffin was brought to the table. No water or drinks for...15 minutes. It's a nice location, but the food was bad. The salmon was overcooked, we had to wait another 20 minutes for the food. The coffee was cold when it arrived.More

Got lots of time and lots of money? This is the place for lunch then. You could go across the way to Nordstrom and wait in a cafeteria line or you can come here and be treated like your Chanel dress is being tailored while...you wait. This is a full service place. I’m beginning to forget what that feels like because now you go to the counter with your order and the gadget calculates the various amounts you can tip even before they call your number. Not here! The wait staff is pleasant and you are never rushed. Oh yeah, the food is good too.More

We are once-a-month diners at Zodiac restaurant on the top floor at Neiman Marcus in Fashion Valley. We especially enjoy a quiet Sunday there. The menu is attractive with its variety. But, the real pleasure is the great quality of food and service. On low...wind days, sitting outside is a treat, too. Our favorites are to usually split sandwiches (more than enough for one), although the full entrees are excellent. Walking off the lunch in the fantastic store dsplays justifies our calories!More

Great food, personable wait staff, excellent service. Fun place for ladies to meet for lunch even if you aren’t shopping Neiman Marcus.

My daughter was looking for a nice place to take me for a Mother's Day lunch together but this is a particularly busy day for dining out! We had an errand to run at Fashion Valley mall and on a whim ended up at the...Zodiac Cafe at Neiman Marcus (not a place I ever shop!). The restaurant wasn't super full so we were seated right away. Within a few moments we had a cocktail, a small china cup of chicken consomme and a warm popover with sweet butter on our table. The latter two are complimentary! Both meals came promptly, were delicious and service was excellent. It was fun to people watch while eating (guests fit the cliche of a typical Neiman's clientele!) and we enjoyed our relaxing lunch while everyone else was still in long lines elsewhere. And the prices were a good surprise - no more expensive than any other similar restaurant. Will definitely return, especially for those popovers!More

I was shopping with a friend and we decided to have lunch at Zodiac in Neiman-Marcus at Fashion Valley, San Diego. Zodiac is Neiman’s elegant in store restaurant, a fine-dining experience in a casual chic enviroment, now about 30 years old. I love their website’s...description even though we ate indoors: “Savoring our dishes at the most fashionable address in town is nice, but what’s the point if you can’t see and be seen? Enjoy a table on the patio where you can take in the scene—and the attention—while refueling for another round of shopping!” Tony was our server, had only been there two months so with the two of us it was like baptism by fire, lol. He did make our first experience memorable and we had a great time. After crispy popovers and berry butter, we split a starter, the pan-fried lump crab cakes on arugula with daikon radish a delicious remoulade and lemon. Then we both ordered salads, she ordered the pine nut-crusted chicken salad with sautéed lightly breaded chicken breast, spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese, balsamic vinaigrette and a pine nut garnish. I had the crab louie salad with what looked like a ½ lb. of jumbo lump crab meat on a romaine wedge with heirloom tomatoes, egg, avocado, cucumber and louie dressing. The presentation was amazing and the taste simply delicious, wow, so much crabmeat. Of course my friend asked to see the dessert menu and Tony brought it saying there were two items available that were not on it. Since I got to pick I decided on the lemon cake, one of the non-menu items. Well when he brought it out, wow incredibly beautiful, layers of lemon cream and sponge cake with white chocolate garnish as well as some strawberries and cream.More

Years ago when I lived in San Diego, my friends and I met almost every Friday for lunch at the Zodiac in Neiman Marcus. We always had an enjoyable lunch and a nice time, whether we were drinking champagne or sparking water. One might expect...serving portions to be small in a restaurant like this, but they are definitely sufficient. I returned with my friends for the first time in many years, and the experience was exactly the same. Lovely salads, good service and comfortable atmosphere. The menu is limited and these are not cheap eats, but not expensive either. I'm not sure I would go there if I weren't in the area, but it is a nice break from shopping. No complaints.More

What a great place to sit down after a long day of shopping. This restaurant is located inside Neiman Marcus. It completely reminds me of when many department stores had a Tiffan Room inside. The popovers with strawberry butter are the absolute best. Any salad...on the menu is amazing also. Several people at our table had a French dip sub, and they were also fabulous.More

I love this place, so up market, they bring you a tiny cup of chicken stock and a cheese biscuit when you sit down, superb, then they bring you which I can only describe as a giant Yorkshire pudding with raspberry butter, this is before...we ordered. They always have a signature champagne cocktail, great. The manager always checks on the guests which is a nice touch for a restaurant in a chain store. I had the salmon tacos, gorgeous. All the trendy people eat lunch here. I love it. I'm a London girl we love to be pampered.More
