We reserved in advance for 6pm dinner. This restaurant is in the Gas Lamp district in San Diego. We were seated outside, which was our preference and had a very attentive waitress. We split a salad and each ordered a pasta dinner. I had the...lasagna Bolognese and my friend had the rigatoni. Both dishes were excellent and plentiful. The only reason I gave this four instead of five stars is the buss boy came and cleared my friends plate before I was finished. That is an absolute no-no in dining.More

Great spot. Authentic Italian food. Great service, prompt and good presentation. Quieter inside than out on the road patio. Would go back.

Authentic Italian restaurant with a few customers that spoke Italian. Ordered the filet mignon and was surprised that the wait staff didn't know what butterfly cut was, but they figured it out quickly. Excellent steaks and pasta, in the heart of the Gaslamp district. Highly...recommend.More

I ended up here twice by design and had a very good meal both times. First was better overall due to a better service night than the second, but the food was very good and plentiful. I tried the Chicken Marsala and loved it. The...Ravioli was awesome too and the serve a great bread on the table too. I sat outside both time and enjoyed the vibe and and comfort.More

We had a reservation and was seated immediately. Our waiter, Jorge, was wonderful. He explained the items on the menu and gave suggestions. I had the Seabas All' Acqua Marie and my husband had the Lobster Fettuccine(which is tossed in their homemade Sicilian pesto sauce...made with pistachio nuts). Food was delicious....I would definitely dine there again...More

This was the first time I'd been here in at least 3+ years. It was as excellent as remembered. I had the seafood tagliatelle with vodka sauce and my date had the sea bass special. Wonderful. A glass of Gavi white wine was very good,...and the bread was fresh and tasty. This place has good service, tries hard, and it shows. The food was tasty and hot and couldn't have been improved. Will look forward to coming back again.More

YES! found this restaurant on tripadvisor and it defenitely didn't disappoint!! Lady at the entrance was very busy but super friendly and found us a table (not booked) within minutes. Our server waa super attentive and friendly. The food was simply delicious! We had spaghetti...carbonara, caprese salad and the beef carpaccio. Great italian food. Stopped in for dinner tonight while in the area. Very good menu with lots to chose from. We decided to have apps and desert. My wife really liked her beef carpaccio and I enjoyed my eggplant Mediterranean. We split the tiramisu, whch was also really...good. Our server was pretty good; friendly, attentive but they did auction off the food. Prices are par for the course for this area, and we would return.More

We were in San Diego for a short vacation with friends and we are all very happy that we found this gem. Our server, Eric, was very friendly and extremely professional...but also the whole staff was very attentive and very pleasant. We were 6 people...and won't list all the food, but every single one of us was very happy with their choice. I had the Seabass All' Aqua Mare and Crème brulee and they were both very tasty. Drinks, wine and cocktails were perfect...the ambiance was fantastic...we had a great night!More

Staff was attentive, but the food had some issues that drove down rating. The steak was rarer than requested and the bacon in the pasta Carbonara was barely cooked. It was OK, it not fantastic and at the price point, I expected better.

Went here to San Diego visit to son. Our server, Melina, was very friendly and extremely professional. I had the chicken Parmesan which was delicious and the most tender chicken I have ever had out. My wife’s seafood dinner was equally delicious. The staff was...attentive and everyone, including the bus and water servers was very pleasant. They actually appeared to be enjoying their respective jobs, unusual theses days. Prices were average and the next day I ordered chicken Marsala as takeout. Again, tender chicken and tasty meal. Only complaint was chicken size was small, made up for by plenty of angle hair. So was not hungry upon leaving.More

My band and I were in town Thanksgiving weekend for a show and headed to Gaslamp District on Sunday night. It was really hoppin'! We were starving and were in search for a solid meal. The young hostess caught our attention and handed us a...card for free bruschetta. We had just arrived and wanted to see what else was around, but the decision was made to go back to Asti and eat at their curbside table (under the tent). The ambiance was fascinating, the service was incredible, their selection of wine and food was perfect, and it was such a great evening! I ordered the steak with a liquified gorgonzola. It was cooked to perfection and the portion of sides were perfect. We spent a pretty penny, but we left wanting for nothing more. Perfect set up for a night of drinking on the town! Enjoy your experience there!More

We went all out as if we were restaurant reporters. We ordered the Carpaccio di Pesce, bruschetta d'Asti, Roasted Egglant w Mozzarella as starters, and shared a Caesar salad. For the mains, we ordered the Primavera and the Seafood Gamberoni E Casperante. The Caesar salad...felt soggy, and the dressing lacked punch and tasted like it was store bought. The carpaccio was so razor thin and a nothing dish considering its $19 price so it was simply a major disappointment; mostly thinly sliced cheese. The broschetta was rather tasteless and did not inspire the next bite. The roasted eggplant was the only delicious dish worth ordering. The primavera felt soggy and the sauce mimicked the tomato broschetta sauce; primavera sauce will either make or break a dish and this one fell flat, lacking punch or aroma. The dish might have been sitting on the counter under the heat lamp for 10 minutes. Sauces should not taste as it from a jar in an authentic Italian restaurant, the taste should electrify. Nothing served did that, although the seafood was perfectly cooked. What was lacking though, was taste which seems to be a concluding theme of this adventure. It was quite obvious that the place was understaffed and that each staff member was working flat out; the pace was feverish, but obviously, a table of 2 could not command sufficient attention competing with a table of 8. We sought out our own salt shaker, parmesan cheese, bill when we wanted to leave, waiter again when we wanted to have the bill collected and skidaddled out unnoticed after that...They had successfully gotten rid of 2 more customers towards their collective goal of reaching the end of the day.More

Food was very sub par. The Caesar Salad was oily and had probably a whole can of canned sardines on top. The veal Parmesan was the worst I have ever tasted. It almost tasted like the cheese on top of the veal was sliced American...cheese - like one would use for a grilled cheese sandwich. The only reason I have it a 2 was the server was outstandingMore
