An early December lunch in Old Town San Diego. Came here on a friend’s recommendation and was not disappointed. Friendly wait staff, outdoor seating, good service. The quest empanada started the meal off well followed by the fricasse del pollo. Portions were just right.

Very overrated because the service is lacking. Food was OK/good but not enough spice for my Latin American wife. Tip: Peruvian lamb stew was spicy enough for me. When you order, make sure there is plenty of HOT SAUCE on the table!

Berta is the the very excellent owner, her staff is fabulous, and, to sum it up, I'm asking her to cater our wedding reception.

Sweetest waitress ever. Accomadated us when ask for guacamole with chips. Had only tortillas on menu but...More

Found this gem of a restaurant on Yelp. Despite the restaurant being empty when we arrived around 5:00, we had the best time with the best tasting Latin food. We were served and waited on by Berta herself which was a joy. She shared that...More

Cozy and feels like visiting someone's home, we enjoyed a fabulous meal featuring a lot of new flavours and dishes we hadn't experienced before. A little off the main tourist area, it's a welcome oasis that moves at a slower pace - we really appreciated...More

PROS: Authentic South American food -- not at all like Mexican. One of few places serving lamb. Cons: Overshadowed by big flashy Tacos and Tequila place nearby -- this one not flashy -- just very unique !

This restaurant has everything it needs to be successful. Location, charm, atmosphere. What is lacking is professional management and skilled kitchen staff. We were greeted by a grumpy hostess who handed us menus and told us to sit wherever we wanted. Eventually the server came...More
