After eating at a high end steak place and being totally disappointed, Anthony's was a excellent rebound. What a great place. Awesome view of the water, friendly servers and happy families. The place as packed with joyful families, conference goers and old time customers. Being in business there for 50 years says a lot. We all had seafood, which was... More

I was on a business trip and ended up staying in the hotel across the street. I had not been to Anthony's for many years and hoped it would be as good as I remembered. I was not disappointed. Had the Caesar's Salad, which I ordered separately but the waiter reminded me I could have it as a side for... More

We grabbed lunch here after spending a couple of hours at the Maritime Museum of San Diego, which is just north on the pier. This is the walk-up, grab it and go or grab it and eat it on the patio side of the restaurant where you can sit on the pier and watch the sights. They have bottled beer... More

My wife and I both had the friend fish and shrimp platter with salads. Service was good, waitress was prompt and funny, and the meal was awesome. Friendly atmosphere for both adults, and or families. It's right on the water (literally), and close to down town. Good variety on the menu. This is another must if you are in San... More

A bit of a touristy place. Average food, slightly below average service, slightly above average prices. Service was borderline terrible. Server came by after 5 minutes or so to get drink order. Someone else brought beverages out, but forgot my sons pirate punch. Took 10 to 15 minutes for server to return and get order and had to remind him... More

We were looking for best crab legs in San Diego and were told about Anthony's Fish Grotto. We made reservations for 8 pm and arrived way early and were pleasantly greeted and imediatedly seated which was really nice. The drinks and the bread were great. We ordered a shrimp cocktail appetizer. We were told the gulf shrimp were large and... More

We walked to this place from our hotel. It's a classic seafood restaurant, nice selection, good food and friendly staff.

Anthony's has been a local icon for many years. At one time they had 4 location throughout San Diego. They are down to 2 and the waterfront location is due to close in the near future. We enjoyed many a fresh fish meal over looking the bay in times past. We haven't been there in about 2 years because the... More

Freshest seafood in San Diego. Fantastic staff. Just north of the Midway museum and cruise ship terminal. Seating inside and out.

Lovely setting. Polite staff. Delicious dinner. Chicken picata so tender I had to have it a second time in the same trip

Anthony's Fish Grotto's was established in 1946 by Mama Catherine Ghio. It set and continues to set the standard for fresh seafood dining in San Diego. Mama believed in letting the freshness show through and not using overwrought and fussy preparations. Fresh seafood simply prepared.
The waterfront Anthony's sits atop piling over San Diego Bay. The views and sunsets are spectacular. The large dining room can accommodate families and large groups and the Lounge/bar area is perfect for that more intimate dining experience.
The menu features an array of seasonal fresh catches along with a multitude of favorites from Fish n Chips to Lobster Tails. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options are available.
