Stopped by this restaurant while waiting to attend an event and so glad we did. Location is convenient to the Civic Theater, there was no waiting in line to be seated, and the onion rings were THE BEST!! The coating was light and crunchy; the rings were large and wonderful; every bite was an adventure to the taste buds. Had... More

My wife and I will go to lunch here before seeing a show. They have many locally brewed beers. The food and service is normally fast. If you're running late they will rush your food. I believe you can call ahead to reserve a table. There is inside seating and normally a game playing on the tvs. If the weather... More

Location is great. It is in the plaza next to Civic theater. Food is good. Light menu and prices are in line with it's location. The board as you walk in says Happy Hour 4 - 6. However, the waiter informed us that it is only to 5:30 on show dates. Which is crazy because it is located right there... More

The location is very convenient for the Theater District. People watching at it's best. The service is marginal, especially after it gets busy. The real bad news? The place is a smidge on the dirty side. We were there before the evening crowd hit and most of the tables were empty. When we reached for the mustard and catsup we... More

Location across from Civic Center cannot be beat; however, go early before popular events and recognize that this is a BAR that serves a limited menu (but great craft beer) and proceed accordingly. We were quite entertained watching the parade of patrons attempt to find tables and receive service prior to last night's production of IF/Then (with Idina Menzel). It... More

This was the perfect place for dinner prior to enjoying a play! My granddaughters love the food and our server was very fun and friendly

We have eaten here before the opera several times and it can be a challenge when there is a crowd. The food and drinks are very good -- we mostly do salads and sandwiches or tacos. Service is good even when they are crowded, but you need to schedule time if you are going to Civic Center for opera or... More

We were very disappointed with our recent visit to TGI Fridays in downtown San Diego/Gaslamp. Being native San Diegans my husband and I were strolling downtown and decided to have lunch at TGI Fridays. This chain holds a special place for us since we met at the Mission Valley restaurant over 30 years ago. My husband was craving the potato... More

My wife and I went for a light dinner at Downtown Johnny Brown's just before a performance at the San Diego Opera. The menu consisted of the usual pub type food and beer. Unfortunately a busload of tourists came in and the place was overwhelmed. The wait staff was very friendly, but, because everyone was going to the opera and... More

This cute little deli/liquor store is a delight and wonderful neighborhood fine. Always have a clean atmosphere, delightful staff who remembers your orders from previous visits. The prices are very good and the overall experience is excellent. I highly recommend visiting if you are up near SDSU.
