By the look of the outside you may not want to enter. The inside looks similar to a garage -- I guess it used to be a bakery. It is very open and not so intimate but it has an edge to it. Maybe a few more artistic wall pieces would help. The dragon on the outside and the Buddha... More

I would not return to this restaurant. My 12-year-old grandson and I had dinner here tonight. The food was OK - nothing special. And the environment was unpleasant at best: a huge cavernous room, unattractive and terribly noisy, I mean terribly noisy - nothing to absorb all the sound. The wait staff was, again, ok, but seemed preoccupied and not... More

This was my second time here (first for dinner back in December). This time was for brunch. There was a long wait list, but it moved pretty quickly, we were sat within 20 of arriving. The Food was reasonably priced. I got the Avo scramble (thou it was a little deceiving when I got it, more like a cheese omelet... More

Looking for something different for dinner; tired of "beach food". Great food, great service, very accommodating considering we had three small children with us. We will be back on our next vacation.

Our family hits the Cantina every time we visit friends in San Diego. Terrific good and awesome/imaginative "table cakes" (pancakes to share) Mexican mocha is terrific and indulgent Great selection of bowls, hashes, burritos, and you name it. Love the decor -- always wondered if it was an old Thai/Asian restaurant -- but it makes the place. On this Sunday... More

This was our second visit to this restaurant. Our first visit was a couple of years ago and we had great memories of the food but it seems to have slipped a bit. We found it to be average quality and a little overpriced. To be fair we only ordered chips and salsa, an appetizer and two types of tacos.... More

Our son lives locally and took us here for breakfast. He is a big meat and potatoes eater while we are not, so finding a restaurant that suits us all isn't always easy. But this restaurant did the trick. We all had breakfast meals we enjoyed and the service from Brian, our waiter, was excellent...he always kept the coffee cups... More

We had a large family dinner at Isabel's last week and had high hopes that everyone would find something on the menu that they would enjoy. Isabel's exceeded our expectations in many ways and I think that our entire family left happy and satisfied with the experience. I called in advance to make a reservation for our party of 10,... This is under-decorated restaurant with somewhat delapidated ambiance and despite of the bright morning, quite dark inside. I found that portions were big on beans and small on eggs/omlet part. It was expensive. Service was good, friendly and prompt.

We had a very pleasing dinner at the restaurant. We expected a Mexican Cantina but the decorations and food appeared to be more Pacific Rim but still very good. Parking can be difficult between the beach parking and the many apartments, condos and just off the main drag of Garnet so you may have to walk a little distance from... More

Description
At Isabel's Cantina, Chef Isabel Cruz fuses Latin and Asian cuisine into sensual and creative concoctions that are both remarkably addictive and surprisingly healthy. By incorporating ingredients from spicy pork carnitas to tofu, Chef Cruz creates a vegetarian's haven as well as a meat-lover's paradise. The exotic dining space is at once dramatic and hip, with accents such as an enormous 15-foot Buddha statue staring down at the dining room. Casual booths, stark lines, and warm colors create an atmosphere not found elsewhere in Pacific Beach, attracting crowds for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
