The margarita flight is excellent (but a little pricey). The traditional Margarita is very good. BlackBerry jalapeño is not to be missed. The spiciness hits you at the first sip, but by the last sip, it's just a lovely little addition. Blood orange is nicely citrus. The white peach margarita is not too different from a traditional, just a little... More

Went there with family about 7 on a Friday. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. It was noisy, which is particularly annoying to me, I must admit. Ordinary chips and guac to start. The menu is big, but my appetite wasn't after a big lunch. Had a 3-taco plate. They were small, which was OK, but light on... More

Options for everyone - vegan, vegetarian, gluten free - and those of us who love our meat and seafood. Wonderful flavors in very generous portions. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with excellent service.

We were inspired to visit this restaurant because they had a Groupon with a reasonable discount. We started with a Bario Margarita. We have had margaritas in Mexico, Canada and the US, pre-made and homemade. The Bario margarita was the most disappointing we've ever had. We then has the Brazilian Bowl consisting of coconut rice, black beans, mango salsa and... More

We went here last weekend and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious. The margaritas were awesome. We go the flight and were able to try them all. Man they were good. Go!!!

We met for lunch with family and had some gen-u-ine Mexican food. The steak taco was remarkable and our grandchildren and the adults raved about the food and the decor--Barrio Star gets 5 stars! You place your order at the register and they bring it out when ready.

I had high hopes for barrio star as I had heard great things about the restaurant. The first disappointment was the marguerita which tasted water down and lacking any great flavor. The food was just ok the quest fundido with soy chorizo was a flop..it would be better without the soy and the cheese was not fundido style in any... More

This place has a trendy feel to it. We sat in the high tables, which after a while were very uncomfortable. The service was ok, but on the verge of bad. We had a group of 11 people & they only brought our 2 small baskets of chips and they were not refilled until we asked SEVERAL times. The place... More

We went to Barrio Star for a quick dinner before theater. It was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised by the food, drinks and service. From the outside the place doesn't look like much but starting with the cheerful, prompt and friendly service to the menu selections, it was a definitely repeatable experience! The cocktail menu is obviously... More

During our recent 12 day stay in San Diego, my husband and I visited Barrio Star 3 times. In this festive feeling restaurant, the wait staff made us feel like stars. These kind individuals, Kyle and Erin, went the extra mile to make sure our appetizers and dinners met our dietary requirements, tasted fabulous, and possessed attractive presentation. With both...
