A funky, earthy, hippy looking/feeling cafe with cute vibes. The food, however, has gone downhill, way down the hill over the last 2 years that I have been going there. the food was wholesome, fresh and tasty, now it is stale and mundane, there are an abundance of drinks on the menu and little food choices. the food comes out... We were staying for a couple of nights nearby and this was the first place we came across while out for an afternoon walk to the shops. We popped in for a quick drink and the staff were lovely, the place had a really nice chilled out atmosphere. We watched some food come out of the kitchen and it looked... More

We were directed to this restaurant by hotel staff for brunch on Sunday morning after attending church. We had a short wait around 11:30 and the four of us were seated inside. Unique menu, not a buffet, for brunch. Two of us had the eggs Benedict with turkey on bread pudding, another had tiramisu pancakes; and another had the specialty... More

We visited cafe 21 during a getaway to San Diego and it was incredible! They have indoor and outdoor seating and at 9:30am on Sunday morning we were seated without a wait (although parking is non-existent as with much of San Diego). The menu is quite large and there are many unique items to choose from. I chose the prosciutto... More

Good food (if a little expensive), kind staff, and a great open-air atmosphere combined to make this a very enjoyable restaurant for my wife and I during our short stay in San Diego. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

I heard about cafe 21 from a friend so I decided to check it out. I decided to check out the location on Adam Avenue and I wasn't disappointed. The service was quick( I came on a Thursday at 11:30m) and food was amazing.... I had their famous shrimp corn cakes! I love food and I'm VERY picky so me... More

This place is really good! I have only been here for brunch, but there is something on the menu for everyone. My favorite is the stuffed strawberry French toast. It's perfectly cooked and stuffed with strawberries and I think mascarpone cheese. You should definitely get a side of potato pancake which is shredded potatoes and I think Parmesan cheese baked... Either under one roof for the main dining room or in the outdoor patio area, you can experience it all, yes, "all the right stuff": gluten-free, creative, International items and especially, fresh organic vegetables. On the patio, we were served by the Double K team: Kat and Kolbe. What a late-afternoon feast of tasty tapas: chicken crepes, chicken curry and... More

We went to visit a friend who lives near Adams Avenue which is where this restaurant is located. We had a fantastic lunch. We tried the duck wings which are great they fried artichokes which were delicious, The mac & cheese which is phenomenal, the tea where you can steep yourself and then using the filter system put in your... Having heard about Café 21 it was time to visit during San Diego pride week. This place is alternative and seems like that's the focus. Food is not bad - however nothing to write home about, really. 7 out of 10 if I'm generous. Decent crepes. What makes this a no-go is the outstandingly lousy service. Lots of staff, yet... More
