The weather was warm and slightly humid...I thought I was in Maui! This place is just like the one on Maui-this is a compliment. Try to get outside seating and watch the marina activity and harbor. Service was impeccable, very good wine by the glass selection, good cocktails. I had the seared Ahi, my wife the macadamia nut crusted Mahi,... More

Business dinner at 5 pm at this beautiful location. Table at the window overlooking the marina. We ordered some starters including different sushi rolls, ribs and vegetarian spring rolls. All were very good. Main course was the one and only Roy's trio: Salmon, Mahi Mahi and Butterfish in different preparations. And the obligatory flour-less chocolate lava cake as grand finale.... Good views, good service, tasty food, couple unique beverages. Sat at the outdoor bar. Was there on business only.

We found Roys 9 years ago and keep coming back for more. The friendly efficient service, the great chefs and amazing menu, each one surpasses the other. I can never remember what anything is called and love to sit at the sushi bar and talk to the chefs about the food. There friendly and have opened our world to new... More

Roy's is almost always a safe choice. On the SD waterfront, Roy's is one of the top two or three restaurants. I'm biased toward the original in Kauai and its cousin on Oahu (near Diamond Head), but SD is holding it own with nicely prepared entres. The starter and tone setter for dinner was the poke appetizer. If you have... More

Didn't love the food or the ambience of the outdoor area. I went there for a private party on two different nights. The first night, the party was held downstairs/outside and the second night the party was held up upstairs/outside. The food did not improve the second night, although the food being served was completely different.

Very good sushi rolls (spicy tuna Aloha roll loved by all). Butterfish received high reviews. Fish trio just the right size for a good sampler.

It is a little pricy but the food was delicious. The lobster bisque was amazing and could be a meal in itself. The service was that of 5 star dining. The staff was extremely attentive and worked as a team. The pineapple upside down cake is a must. It is scratch made and served with coconut ice cream!!!

I'm not big on chain restaurants but after our initial visit to Roy's in Kona, we loved it and were thrilled when we heard there was a Roy's in Orlando. That one is fantastic and so when I saw that there was a Roy's at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, I had to try it. Once again, really good.... More
