I can tell you that the T.A. crowd is visiting this place. We kept waiting and watching for someone who wasn't aware of where the entry door was, but all seemed to know. It's a really cute place with very attentive bar tenders and a...good selection of wine. Unfortunately, we were heading out for a large dinner because the grilled cheese sounded exceptionally good.More

This place is located downstairs to the melting pot restaurant and the doorman for the wine bar heard us talking about looking for this place and never spoke up to say we were right on top of it. He was actually really rude and never...cracked a smile. Bad first impression. Second bad impression is trying to open the door of the bar after walking down the outdoor stairs. It’s such a dirty rusted out handle. I didn’t even want to touch it. Third and final bad impression was we sat at the bar to get our drinks in and even though the place was not crowded at all, the bartender never acknowledged us or the other 3 people waiting for drinks. Does this place not want to make money? It’s very confusing to me how this happens. Only 3 people total in there and all waiting on drinks? Hmm. Needless to say we walked out and we will not be back.More

We went here for a private event. Jessie their event planner was exceptional. We did a wine tasting with their sommelier. 40 guests. The atmosphere here is really cool! Their food pairings were excellent and we didn't want to leave! I've also been on a...Friday night and enjoyed their cabaret show... it was a little amateur and reminded me of something I would see at a dance recital but it was cute and PG rated so it would appeal to everyone. They have an extensive spirit list including lots of unique imports.More

It’s definitely worth a stop to this Alice and Wonderland themed spot. Would recommend. I’m planning to go back soon.

Meet a couple friends for drinks late on Saturday. Fun "hidden" entrance, great speakeasy feel. Cocktails were well made with a good variety of specialty drinks. Service was very quick considering the rapidly growing crowd. Bar menu offered a variety of snacks, charcuterie plate was...very good. Only thing that could be considered a negative was pulling all the occupied bar stools once the DJ began; I understand the thought behind it but personally don't agree with the practice. Aside from that, great time was had.More

After reading about this place on a travel blog, we had to check it out on our recent visit to San Diego. We were not disappointed! Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, the atmosphere is unlike anything else I've seen and features a...cozy underground garden or Alice in Wonderland vibe. Finding the entrance to the place is half the fun and watching others try to find their way in is quite entertaining. We booked a wine tasting on a Saturday for $35 per person and had a great time. We were seated at the large tasting table in the middle of the room with other guests and were treated to three glasses of wine, each paired with a small appetizer. One of the in-house sommeliers explained each pairing and answered any questions. Highly recommend! If you enjoy a good glass of wine and enjoy going off the beaten path, this is the place to be. We can't wait to return.More

What a find!! Definitely a whimsical bar. You go down stairs and there are 2 doors. Don’t be fooled by them like us. We stood there for a solid minute before someone came and showed us the door to get in is hidden by green...foliage. Look for the greenery that’s the door! They have cameras and a TV at the bar to laugh at unsuspecting guests like us:) Very fun atmosphere. Got there around 5:45 on Saturday and it was pretty empty which was nice because we got the choice of tables/chairs. They also had a magician there that came to our table and did tricks for us, AMAZING!!! We got a card on the ceiling. What a fun night!!! Must stop in if you are in the gas lamp area!More

Our friend took us here as it was one of his favorite places. It didn't disappoint. Awesome atmosphere, great drinks, and the 2 bartenders were super nice and fun. Hard to find if you don't know where to look for it. If you are in...San Digeo, this place is great to grab a fun drink!More

We were at Vin de Syrah a few weeks ago during one of my trips to the area. I must say the entire experience was fabulous. Loved the cute rabbit hole like entrance. Enjoyed the meal as well . Special mention goes out to the...very gracious and brilliant bar tender Ash who made us some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Needless to say we were one “ happy” group when we left. Will definitely be going back for some more of his cocktails and another night of fun with friends. Definitely recommend!! Rashmi MehtaMore

At first we thought it was closed as the first door we tried to open didn’t open but then noticed a door disguised as a shrub and tried that and voila Vin de Syrah! Super cute Alice in wonderland type theme to it and the...Merlot was fantastic! We will definitely be back next time we are in town!More

Hi. The dress code is a standard club code of no flip flops but jeans are fine and button up shirts are preferred. We do have patrons in jeans and t-shirts. We do not have any private rooms but we are in a hotel and they... More
