My wife picked this restaurant and boy were we pleasantly surprised. We showed up 1 hour early but they took us right in and gave us a table right next to the window. Views are to die for looking out over the water and boats. The menu was excellent and the food was fantastic. The waiter was very attentive and... More

Although the view was terrific and the service was acceptable. 3 of our 5 meals came to our table horribly undercooked, raw and cold. You think this would bring a manager to the table immediately. None to be found. The $25 round of drinks to appease us was a poor excuse for an apology. I did not want more $$,... More

About a 20 minute walk from the Pearl hotel. Recommended by staff there. Fantastic 'islands' style food I guess - definite oriental twist. A few tables outside on a balcony - views across the bay to the naval base. Watch out for their famous Mai Tai - pure rum basically.

I love visiting authentic tiki bars from the 50's and 60's. My husband and I took the kids for lunch here, and it didn't disappoint. There is so much to look at and a great atmosphere! We decided to sit outside, and though it was a little chilly the view alone made this place worth it. We had a really... More

Bali Hai is worth the drive for us from Oceanside. I always particularly enjoy the Hawaiian macaroni salad and the Asian Chicken Salad. My husband has the crab (sometimes more than one plate full). We enjoy a quieter dining experience so we request way before the date to sit outside. There is a very limited outdoor dining area that is... More

The food looks really good - it's well presented - but the flavors don't come close to the promise. My wife had sea bass and the temperature was only lukewarm. I had the shrimp, and the sauce reminded me more of mayonnaise than anything else. And the beer is only in bottles, there is no draft beer. The view, however,... More

Go no further if you want a fantastic view of Mission Bay and downtown San Diego, coupled with WONDERFUL food and service. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered, and we had several appetizers that we all shared. The cocktails are fantastic as well! GO EAT HERE, you'll be glad you did!

The building is worth showing to any out-of-towner. One of a few places you can tie-up a boat and a gem for that alone. The Mai Tai comes with a warning and a counter behind the bar that shows how many served (over 2KK). The food is trying too hard to be Polynesian fusion (not a culture known for its... More

Punctual sevive. Fantastic view. Seafood fresh. No definite Michelin star ambition I wouls say. I had tro defining the pacific island taste... But maybe there is no such thing. A place to go back to however.
