Attended an opening event mixer for Tiki Oasis 2016 here, and it couldn't have been better. The view as the day faded from late afternoon to evening was nothing short of spectacular, the buffet was good, and the drinks are ummm, quite effective. They have the best pina colada I've ever had, I'm ruined for all others now.

My favorite place to go and unwind, and experience the beauty of the Polynesian history, culture, and delicious food. The service is amazing, as well as the original family who own it. I feel relaxed and in my element at the Bali Hai on Shelter Island. It's like going home. Order the Mr. Bali drink. My favorite tiki mug!

What a beautiful view! The restaurant has old Hawaii charm with delicious fair priced food. The waitress, a young blonde girl recommended a drink called a Paralyzed Pufferfish to my husband which was absolutely horrible! He didn't drink it...let it sit there and she never asked about it. Besides that, the restaurant is awesome, the view can't be beat and... More

Bali Hai has stepped up it's food game considerably in the last few years and is now much better. The food is now nearly as good as the view but the view(s) are really priceless. At the left end of Shelter Island, Bali Hai has nearly 360 degree views of the San Diego bay, Embarcadero, Downtown San Diego, and Coronado... More

We learned the Bali Hai is a San Diego long time establishment. The restaurant's commanding view of the city is alone a good reason to visit. The Polynesian inspired decor and food reminded us of Hawaii. While I wouldn't classify this as a gourmet dining experience, the food was very good. Service excellent. I can see why this restaurant is... More

A friend recommended this as their favorite place to dine in San Diego. We were not disappointed. The view is one of the best we have had. The San Diego skyline at night is a wonderful backdrop for the Polynesian dinner. Great crispy calamari with chili Thai sauce. Would highly recommend!

Our family ate here for dinner before going on an evening cruise out of the marina next door. I chose this location because of the proximity to the marina and the fact it is on the water. The view from the dining room is incredible. Huge windows overlook the harbor and we were fortunate enough to have a table next... More

Bali Hai - PLEASE bring back my favorite dish, Chicken of the Gods. My first visit here was the early 70's. I have incredibly fond memories and can't wait to return every time we're in San Diego. The décor, views, location are all great! The servers are wonderful and accommodating (I've never seen an unhappy one). The food is not... More

The Bali Hai is fabulous! Everything from our wonderful host, Jenny, to the ambiance of the restaurant, wedding area and pacific room - they are all beautiful! I knew for a long time I wanted to get married at this wonderful restaurant. I never could have imagined all the beautiful things they would do to make your day special. The... More

I love to visit old Tiki restaurants. Bali Hai has been around for many years. However, the food and drinks are very good, and the tiki is nicely done, but not overwhelming. The view from a window table is amazing! 180-Degree view of the bay. During our July Visit, the bay was full of sailing ships (40+), sight-sight seeing boats,... More
