Searsucker is interesting because it's a fine line combo between high-end and the gastro/rustic vibe. The waiter knew the food well, a little cocky, but the other girls at the table loved it. The food was all over the place from tapas to standard steak to Asian to mixology and back to a daring game menu! We tried the tuna... More

Had the recent pleasure of being introduced to Searsuckers by way of a group of Vacation rental Industry Friends & Colleagues. The 'upscale casual' atmosphere they have created was most enjoyable, while for food was even more so. And the desert, sooo, so wrong.... I forgets it's name but I'll call it a Bacon Whiskey Brownie ice Cream Bananas Foster... More

I'd heard the buzz about this place since it opened a couple of years ago, and have eaten at other restaurants Brian Malarky owns, but I was saving this one for a special occasion. This is NOT the intimate place to celebrate a special occasion. It's loud, funky, and full of energy. The staff is quite charged up and very... More

We were a party of six for a business dinner. While the food was generally good, the restaurant was extremely noisy, making it difficult for those in our group to hear one another. Service was efficient though casual.

We had a lovely dinner here. My husband had the duck and I had the mahi-mahi. The fish came with an unusual pairings so I was nervous but in fact they were delicious. It came with drunken cherries and almonds. I had them put it on the side so not to ruin the fish, turns out they made the fish... More

Always a go to while in San Diego. The brussels sprouts are a favorite. Peter Rabbit cocktail my go to. Recently had lunch and enjoyed the vegan tomato soup, delicious!! and the french dip was nothing short of amazing. Ate every bite. Love this place. The decor, staff, and their infused liquors, in house! I cant wait for the Las... More

We had a wonderful meal with great service. It was just what you would want from a meal on the road: local specialties done well. Chichito peppers, wahoo and a delicious house wine. Only concern would be if you are looking for a quiet place. We loved the hipster energy here, but isn't the quiet secluded spot some might look... More

Oh goodness!! This is our new favorite! This was recommended by my sister-in-law, and when it comes to great drinks she is NEVER wrong! The peter rabbit is amazing, but so is every one of their signature cocktails! This is now a must every time we come back to San Diego! You seriously cannot go wrong with the food or... More

Very good food. If you want to hear your fellow diners and you're a stickler for service then perhaps not the place for you. If you're looking for a restaurant with a funky vibe and a meal to kick a night out or a group of young people celebrating an occasion then definitely worth a try!

I've been to Searsucker several times and think it is definitely deserving of its reputation. The trendy, industrial space and the off beat menu may not be for everyone - but for those who are open to a unique dining experience, this is a top choice in the Gas Lamp. Everything I've had here has been rave worthy, even dishes... More
