Having previously dined at Solare, I noticed the glass enclosed wine room in the middle of the dining room and made a reservation to take my wife out for a special night. It was fabulous! The food, the service and the ambiance were great. Solare is noted for excellent food and an extensive wine list at reasonable prices. Whether it's... More

The ambience appeared more like a cantina than a trattoria, and I found steak tar tare on the menu rather than carpaccio; so perhaps a bit of influence from other countries exists. This only adds to the overall charm and experience at Solare. Being a bit of a foodie, I do happen to adore a classic preparation of tar tare,... More

They accommodated a group of 6 with no reservation. Wine list is quite extensive. I had the Cioppino, it was incredible, everything was so fresh. Great service as well!

Went here with several folks from work. Didn't have a reservation for dinner but they were very accommodating in seating us. I had the pizza which was very good. The menu is quite good. The fish of the night was great. Huge drink menu as well. Nice find

We had the Pleasure to have dinner at this beautifull restaurant. We were greeted By Paula a lovely server and great asset to the restaurant, she recomended some of the plates and was always trying to please us. We had dinner at the private table inside a crystal vault surrounded by racks of wine simply spectacular!!! The Burrata was very... More

Great tasting food. Service was spectacular. The fettucine ai frutti di mare was outstanding. Also the salmone was so good. Recommend the tiramisu. It comes in a small flower pot with a mint leave. Then we walked next door to Pinots Palette to do some painting.

My Mother, Father and Sister were in San Diego for the Thanksgiving holiday. My wife had tried a dish from Solare at a event she had been to. San Diego Best, the Pirch(going by memory on that)She raved about it. Seemed like the perfect opportunity 2go. Once again she was spot-on. All our meals fantastic prepared .Wine selection was good,... More

Had dinner here with my cousin and his two children. The food was respectable, but certainly nothing to rave about. The restaurant tries to have an Italian Wine Cellar vibe but misses the mark. It has a definate chain restaurant feel to it. Our server was just okay. A bit snobby and didn't seem happy that there were kids at... More

If you are in the north side of San Diego, please make a stop at Solare in Liberty Square. Chef Accursed Lota and his team will bring you a good dining experience for you. The food served here is fresh and locally sourced. Pasta made each day ,organic produce used where possible, and hormone free meats are many of the... More
