My Mother, Father and Sister were in San Diego for the Thanksgiving holiday. My wife had tried a dish from Solare at a event she had been to. San Diego Best, the Pirch(going by memory on that)She raved about it. Seemed like the perfect opportunity 2go. Once again she was spot-on. All our meals fantastic prepared .Wine selection was good,... More

Had dinner here with my cousin and his two children. The food was respectable, but certainly nothing to rave about. The restaurant tries to have an Italian Wine Cellar vibe but misses the mark. It has a definate chain restaurant feel to it. Our server was just okay. A bit snobby and didn't seem happy that there were kids at... More

If you are in the north side of San Diego, please make a stop at Solare in Liberty Square. Chef Accursed Lota and his team will bring you a good dining experience for you. The food served here is fresh and locally sourced. Pasta made each day ,organic produce used where possible, and hormone free meats are many of the... More

The dinner was average...and the Lasagna was the most expensive I have seen in quite awhile if not ever. They are dog friendly and brought a water bowl for the doggie - big plus. The bread basket arrive 3 times for our group and was completely different each time: Great - Overcooked Cold - Burnt Croutons. I thought that was... More

For me, this Italian restaurant has everything. An eclectic atmosphere, a delightfully creative menu, excellent food, and the cherry on top… fabulous gluten free options. We don’t live in the area, but every time we are in San Diego, we visit Solare, and every time, I’m more impressed with this restaurant. The staff is excellent and is very well trained... More

We spent 4 hours having dinner in this beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere was quaint, classy and just fabulous. Food is all fresh and very unique. Be prepared-this is southern Italian cuisine. Not at all like your typical American Italian restaurant, but delicious nonetheless. Our server was excellent and very hands off during our conversation.

With another couple, we dined at Solare on a Friday evening. Probably a mistake ... as the place was packed and we were seated near a party of 14, including two toddlers. Consequently, our service was exceedingly slow (and forgetful) and the ambient noise drove us out earlier than planned. That said, the food was delicious, as it always has... More

While the food was as good as ever when we want two of us, we had an event there for a conference and the food was subpar. Service is always great and the Moretti Rossa is my beer and harder to find :-)

I don't know what else to say other than I have found my favorite pizza place after only living here for a month.
