We arrived at Brian's 24 after being recommended from our hotel. Had we just been walking past we probably wouldn't have gone in because it was pretty empty which is never a good sign. Having said that, this place is on 6th avenue and most of the restaurants seem to be on 5th where most or all of the footfall... More

We were staying at a timeshare nearby and wanted to grab dinner without having to walk too far. The food and service were all very good overall however, this is not your typical dining atmosphere as it essentially looks like a bar/saloon with a big counter bar and tables spread about the place. If you don't want anything too fancy,... More

This place has humongous portions that taste great! Worth the wait - enough food for a football player. We will keep coming back.

This place seems like the ultimate place to go for after the bar for food. The reason is while we were there a few drunk chicks were trying to eat away the buzz. The food and service was great. I had the sampler platter. The kids had chicken strips. My wife was very pleased with portion sizes. Over all it's... More

Let's be honest, if you're out and about at breakfast or lunch time, there are definitely better places that you could go. Then again, there are worse places too. If it's the middle of the night and you want a really good meal instead of going to Dennys or Ihop, this place is for you. The food is really good,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at Brian's. It's clearly a favorite and the quality of the food was very good. I was just taken aback at the size of the portions. My "short" stack of multigrain pancakes was 2 pancakes the size of my plate! Hubs, challenged the "any thing you want any time of day" claim and had a tuna... More

I was very pleased with the place, good food, good drinks, fun Staff. Everyone in the restaurant seem happy. Good vibe. Food was a different blend of all with a Southern California twist. Try the Pizza tots, the Chicarrones and the wings with gravy. Some good eating. Prices are reasonable. Will be back.

Brian's 24....what can I say? Great food, large portions, and friendly service. What more could you ask for? The eggs Benedict are phenomenal, and if you want to step your breakfast game up a bit, I'd recommend the crab cakes Benedict, Awesome!

Overall we had more better meals than worse. The serving sizes were impressive. The drinks were strong and yummy. The staff were friendly. Only once did they miss bringing us our appetizer and then bring it to us burnt (poutine). An easy choice for comfort food that is familiar and as expected. Would come again.

On behalf of our family and staff, we welcome you to Brian's 24! We know you have a lot of choices when deciding where to eat and we're so glad that you chose our restaurant. Aside from the big bar and even bigger food, our place has a story…all great places have a story. This story starts in 2008 when a father (Steve) and a son (Brian) began a drive around the Gaslamp Quarter in search of their next family business venture. Being San Diego natives, Steve and Brian knew exactly what Downtown was missing, an all-hours restaurant where you could get good comfort food any time, day or night. Having come from a family of foodies and restaurateurs, and with Brian himself having spent time in the restaurant industry in Las Vegas, both Steve and Brian were ready for something fun, exciting and in the heart of their hometown. From the moment they stepped in to the restaurant off the lobby of the historic St. James Hotel, they knew they had found the spot. With its grand, hand-crafted mahogany bar (obtained from actress Joan Crawford's estate), beautiful crystal chandelier and tin ceiling, the place really had a warm feeling and a great personality. Fast-forward to today, and the family business is still going strong. After Steve's passing in 2010, the business now has more family members sharing in this labor of love, with Ida (mom), Andrea and Robin (two of Brian's four sisters) standing next to Brian at the helm. Our mission is simple - family, comfort food and anything you want, any time you want it.
