Firstly, this fast food place was frequented by Elvis back in the day. That is its claim to fame. I can tell you that it's not because of the overly friendly staff or food quality. Next, at the time we went they only accepted cash. This is rather inconvenient as most people these days don't carry cash. The nostalgia of... More

We were visiting Tupelo and looking for a local place to eat with character. We chose Johnny's Drive Inn. It is a small car hop diner with good food and friendly service that has "a hole in the wall feel." We ate the all meat burgers and onion rings. The taste reminded us how food used to taste in the... If you want a true diner experience you have to eat here after visiting Elvis's birthplace. Closed on Sunday. Try the dough burger. It's really good. A burger made with flour like they did back during the depression. Even sit in Elvis's booth.

Came here for a very early burger and chips before it got to busy. We got to sit in Elvis' booth and eat, nice food. This is quite a small diner and I imagine it can become crowded. Great stop in Tupelo, if you're feeling peckish.

One of Tupelo' oldest restaurant known for its amazing dough burgers. This old style diner offers inside seating, small front patio, or you can do it like back in the day and have the car hop come take your order and bring you your food. Being Elvis Presley's all time favorite place to eat you can sit and enjoy your... More

Fun stop and very easy to get to. Small but clean joint. No frills to this place, but was better than going to some chain restaurant, especially on a family vacation. The food was ok. As my wife reminded me, "It's all about the journey, babe."

Our first visit here and we found the menu a bit complicated. Unfortunately our waitress wasn't really interested in explaining it to us and walked away after we'd ordered our burgers; had to call her back to add a couple of sides. When the food came it was okay. It was inexpensive so I guess you get what you pay... More

My grandparents are from Tupelo, and we've been visiting here all my adult (41 yrs) life. I don't guess I've ever eaten here. My mom and I were out geocaching and going to visit my grandmother at the nursing home. We decided to stop in for lunch. Decided on the all-beef burger; it was good but 1 would not have... More

We stopped here since we were tourist and doing all the Elvis stuff. We got to sit in the same booth he sat in. The wait staff was very friendly. The food was super cheap, but that's not what brings people in I don't think. We tried the two most popular menu items, we threw them in the trash and... More

We went for the Elvis factor - that it was where he used to go for burgers. Food was good, people are excellent... like I said, the atmosphere was the key. Luckily it was full when we walked in, but Elvis' booth opened up next. We were ecstatic. If you're an EP fan, You can't miss this stop. <3
