The Yankee was opened circa 1950, it is located in the seaport district in South Boston, or "Southie" as it is known to locals. This is the place to have what in my opinion is one of the best lobsta rolls in town. The venue is modest, there is sitting outside, but do not expect a view. The queues can... More

Came into town with the wife, kinds and my dad (from NY) to grab some Lobster rolls. Friendly people, fast service and top quality seafood. Largest lobster rolls in the city and absolutely stuffed with lobster meat.

This is a small place for informal dining located down by the waterfront in an industrial area. Excellent food at good prices; well worth seeking out.

A busy tasty restaurant with no frills in plates, cutlery or decor. My son and I had lobster which was very tasty and reasonably priced. My daughter had clam chowder and fish and chips. Both excellent and my 'husband had haddock' -(alliteration not intended) which was also palate pleasing. Depending on when you go you might need a reservation. We... More

Don't get fooled when walking in, It's small, you order from a small counter, and a small menu on the wall, but make no mistake, the seafood is top quality. We had a small clam chowder and fish stew to start and wish we had gotten the large. Fish and chips and calamari next and they were delicious. The wait... More

They do have the best lobster roll. Of great prices on whole lobsters any size. Quaint. No fancy just really good. Crab, Lobster Bisque, trained and friendly staff.

On the advice of a local policeman, we decided to check the place out. Great food, good service, small tables, but steep prices! Over $60 for 2 dinners, 1 cup of lobster bisque (which was teriffic), and 1 salad. Dinners served in baskets like you'd get at a 60's diner. Had the lobster club and the tuna. Might go back,... The line moved fast but the food was not worth the wait. The crab cake tasted like old oil and no flavor. Fish and chips nothing special. The lobster bisque was very good. Find another seafood place. It was dirty and average at best. Disappointed

While off the beaten path this is a good find. Nothing fancy about this small restaurant. Just good fresh fish at a reasonable price. I have not had a bad meal here and I've eaten here at least a dozen times. When I have out of town guests and I want to BBQ tuna for them, I purchase my raw... More

Has great sea food and good prices very small and was busy. We sat out side cause there was more room. Staff very friendly and it was clean also plenty of parking.

Neighborhood Profile
Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront
This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.
