We keep returning to this gem in Southie. The breakfast sandwiches and pastries are delicious. Even better is the friendly service and family-style management of the shop. It’s a very comfortable neighborhood spot and we highly recommend it!

I had an excellent experience here and the Baklava was awesome. The staff here is exceptionally friendly and kind. I also enjoyed the Croissant bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches.

Not only is the cafe nestled in a great neighborhood, it’s offerings are better than many of the more tourist-ie type cafes in the area. The counter staff was happy and very helpful in selection. The cannolis are life-changing!

I have been here 2x. It was excellent coffee, very friendly service, and some nice baked goods. If you are in the neighborhood be sure to check it out.

We stopped here to satisfy a sweet tooth and did enjoy the donuts. They weren’t our favorite, but worth the stop and the couple bucks! I loved the flavor of the cranberry spice, but the texture was not my favorite - but that is just personal preference.

Simple easy breakfast sandwich choices on a selection of bagels, muffin or croissant. Coffee pretty good and so are cookie platters.

Thrilled to find this new coffee shop right in my neighborhood. Much better than lots of coffee shops in the immediate and nearby areas, especially because it is actually not a bad environment to sit and do work. They have all the expected drink options, great pastries, nice staff. The review WOULD BE a 5 star, were it not for a few issues that they can easily work out:
1. The coffee drinks need some tweaks. The cappuccino had not nearly enough coffee, it was mostly milk. It barely tasted like coffee. I watched it being made and the coffee to milk ratio was just too low, especially for the size of the cup. Also, they sprinkled what seemed like either sugar or some kind of sweetened chocolate powder on top without asking. This is not the way cappuccino should be served. It should be espresso + milk + milk foam, and the drinker should decide whether to add anything else to it. Both easy to fix.
2. Smaller gripe: They have free wifi, but it was slow the day I was there. Doubtful it was because of too many people being on it, since there was only one other person in the place.
3. Even smaller gripe: it is a little too brightly lit and seems somewhat of a clinical environment.
4. Smallest gripe: They play sort of "elevator muzak" in the cafe. Creates a sterile vibe in combination with the bright lighting.
Even without fixing the wifi, if they tweak the coffee drinks, turn the lights down slightly and change the music to either jazz or hipster alternative, we will have a bonafide hipster Wifi cafe in the west side of South Boston very soon, a title for which Broadway Pastry is currently a top contender.

Went to Boston for a week and stayed at a hotel located 5-minutes walk from Broadway Pastry. Liked the place, its hot chocolate and the charm of being a local business and not part of a chain. Will definetely come back on my next visit.
