In Boston on business, our party was rather large do we had a private room upstairs. Servers were very attentive and quick to answer questions. Calamari, shrimp kisses (bacon wrapped shrimp), and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. Excellent wine selection. Clam chowder for first course, which I enjoyed. Grilled cod with green beans and mashed potatoes with a side of lump... More

Found restaurant while looking for subway station entrance. Was close to 6 pm and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Service was prompt and helpful. Gave several recommendations both for beverage and entrée. We had seafood trio and seared sea scallops. Both were excellent. Was a very expensive dinner but our last night in Boston so we splurged.... More

Went there while visiting the Marketplace for lunch. Showed up 10 minutes before the lunch menu ended, and had to ask for that menu. Server nice, attentive, but ended up ordering us dinner size portions. I didn't realize it, but thought the portions were rather large. Luckily, I was using reward points that paid for the meal. Had crusted flounder... More

The service is great but the food is average and over priced. The lobster mash potatoes was very good but I've had better. Baked stuffed shrimp was very tasty and my date had the steak and he enjoyed it. Probably won't visit again because there's a ton of other restaurants in the area that's worth a shot.

Mediocre hamburger, and the restaurant did not feel clean. The carpet really needs to be changed out and, at the very least, kept vacuumed. Staff was friendly, but I can't recommend this place. From some tables, you can just see into the kitchen--sorry, it just did not look well maintained to me.

Situated in Quincy Market on the north end of one of the market buildings. McCormick & Schmick's is a great meeting point for drinks and snacks or for a break from your shopping and tourist activities. There are plenty of outdoor tables, bar slots and upstairs booths to suit all needs. Happy hour deals and cheap Oysters and prawns on... More

I am a frequent visitor to the North End of Boston, I had my Labrador Retriever with me and loved that they are "Pet Friendly" outside on their expansive patio. The entire staff were very congenial and attentive. The hostesses remembered my name on the second visit, had brought water for my dog end even came and fussed over him.... More

Only had a few hours in Boston so I had to find dinner quick and this was very good. Lobster bisque soup was excellent. Staff was friendly too. Good find on short notice

Business lunch. The service was inexperienced but eager to please. I didn't help that the suit (manager, I suppose) hovered over all the tables and servers like some impatient vulture. The bottom line was the bottom line -- way to pricey for what you get, which is good if ordinary fare.

In spite of the fact that McCormick and Schmick is a chain restaurant, we find the meals to be consistently good wherever we travel. Given that we don't eat meat, we are always on the lookout for reliable fish restaurants in any city we visit. McCormick and Schmick has never disappointed. We were there on a week-day evening and in... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
