The ambience is really good with well laid out seating arrangement. The sushi itself was subpar and did not seem to have been prepared by a qualified chef. Service was ok. Price wise it was definitely on the pricey side

This is definitely an "alright" Japanese restaurant that is overpriced. Ordered udon, Katsu, and black cod and the udon was the last dish to come out surprisingly with just noodles and spinach... If you have the time, take the T, walk, or uber to Chinatown for some good Asian/Japanese food that may be a bit cheaper and will taste better.... More

There is not many choices of sushi in prudential . So when we shop and crave sushi we go to Haru . Sushi is great , atmosphere is okay . For some reason it doesn't seem cozy in there . We were seated at the lounge and I don't like when there is no choice of seating . We were... More

It's lunch time on Newbury Street and we thought we'd give Haru a try. We started with a Sake tasting for each of us. We ordered the Shishito peppers and a variety of sushi. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. When you read about different sauces, toppings, and additions you expect bold and vibrant. Sadly the dishes were a touch... More

I agree with whoever said that this place is going downhill. You can tell from the state of the bathroom, The restaurant is almost empty but yet the bathroom bin is full, the soap they use is a plain dial, and the BR is not clean. The hostesses are clueless and has always been. They screw up our order and... More

Haru Sushi is just across from the Colonnade Hotel. It's convenient to Copley Square and a quiet respite from the tumult of Back Bay. The ambience is dim and romantic and the food is simply great. It's priced reasonably for its location and provides a fine Japanese dining experience.

Today- "black Friday". We went after shopping to Haru at 10:35 pm- it is supposed to close at 11:30 but the manager didn't even look at us when we tried to come in as the doors of the restaurant were already looked. We are now enjoying our dinner in another restaurant, even if we really wanted to have sushis at... More

Best summed up as awful experience from a venue that has fast deteriorated to the truly un-edible. We ordered 3 items to share, a duck salad, gumbo shrimp and some tacos. All items arrived looking positively unappetising and not fresh. The duck salad was limp lettuce over drenched in a sickly sweet dressing and hardly any duck, had to search... More

Was here in February, 4 of us dined on a busy Saturday evening All was going well with our experience, drinks ordered and onto our starters! I had the crispy duck which I didn't share as it was so good! The other starters were good - hot & sour soup, crab dumplings and calamari. At this point our helpful waitress... More

Description
There's never a dull moment at Haru if you love food, fun, and atmosphere. In a stylish and vibrant setting, Haru Sushi Bar/Restaurant/Bar serves freshly prepared Japanese dishes with a focus of making the customer feel special. Haru's menu is based on quality, creativity, and generous portions of sushi and sashimi. While the fare is very important to Haru's customer, this is not their only reason for dining here. Many return frequently simply because they enjoy the whole experience Haru provides. It's no wonder they say, "it's the next progression in Japanese Fusion."

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
