We went to this restaurant because we were attracted by its wonderful exterior on the beautiful Newbury Street. We sat outside and it all looked promising. However the food left us a bit disappointed. Their platter of starters wasn't great. Their kabuli chana is also ordinary. Moreover the attitude of the staff was pretty indifferent. Overall not a great place... More

Right off of Newbury Street, easy to find and plenty of seating so usually no wait. Their lunch specials are incredibly well-priced and the amount of food included is enough to fill you up for hours. Rich and flavorful taste, great place if you like spicy food.

After a relaxing stroll along Newbury street with my daughter taking in the ambience of the area, we decided to opt for Indian food and Kashmir was our choice. We were greeted by a very polite gentleman that gave us a choice of 2 outside tables, this was good as the weather was very warm. Our order was placed with... More

Dropped in as a family of four for dinner. We love our Indian food and know our way around this cuisine. My children rated their food 8.5 out of 10, but I was 6.5, so would say pretty good but not superb. Prices are proportionate and service is attentive. If you love a good curry and are walking past, drop... More

The food is okay, the service is good, but none of it is worth the price. Nonetheless, it is one of the better Indian places in Boston

On a hot summer day a friend suggested Indian food: filling, easy to digest and delicious. Terrific location on Newbury Street to people watch, out of the sun, under the umbrella with a gentle breeze to keep me cool. Ordered from the luncheon menu that included soup, rice and entree with three chutney's. The chutney was fantastic and made the... More

My girlfriend and her parents recommended Kashmir one day and we decided to visit. I can honestly say that j don't regularly eat Indian food, but I love the chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo. Kashmir is in a great spot on Newbury St and the staff was very friendly. If the weather is nice, sit outside and enjoy a... More

It's good -- really not quite a 4, but better than a 3. Wide variety of menu choices, food good (though we are not specialists in Indian food) and service unbelievably efficient. As so often, quantities of food were excessive. My wife could eat less than half her dinner, and I managed just over half. I would suggest mixing and... More

Kashmir is on newbury street and its prime location was the reason we choose it. The ambience and service was good but food didn't match up with them. I will not call it authentic indian food it was more of a fusion , n it was not a good one.

I have eaten hear twice while visiting Boston. Food is good, but not a good value (little on Newbury St. is). Option of how spicy you would like the food prepared. Excellent service. Outdoor seating ing the summer.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
