We attempted to go for dinner but could not get in without reservations so we waited until the next day for lunch. I strongly recommend reservations because this place filled quickly even at lunch time on a Thursday. Service was excellent and food is pricey...for lunch but very good. We had shrimp cocktail, a lobster roll and a burger with lobster. Would visit again.More

Bostonia Public House is a well put together establishment. It could easily be a high end restaurant with its location and décor, but it chooses the loud feel after 9pm like so many restaurants in the vicinity. Luckily we went early on our first visit...and sat outside. I enjoyed the salad and I split the chips appetizer with my wife. She ordered seafood which I tried not to smell. The service was friendly.More

Awesome meal, the hanger steak with broccolini was fantastic and reasonably priced for a steak entree. The cod entree was also great and there is a nice kids menu. Atmosphere and service were great even on a reasonably busy evening. Awesome to take a post...meal walk along the wharf/waterfront park area right next to it.More

We set at bar tables across from the bar and it was uncomfortably hot. We did several apps, the Korean ribs were fantastic but calamari was not cooked enough. The lobster Mac n cheese was a huge let down. I heard good things about it....DO NOT GET IT!!! Wife had the chops. Good choice. Overall for the price not worth the visit.More

Ate here twice on a recent stay in Boston, the food is exceptional. Booking is essential as it gets very busy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would recommend the tater tot starter and the lobster mac and cheese for entrée. Just fantastic!

We are traveling with 4 families. Total of 16 people. The hostess said she could not seat that many together so we said we were ok to split into 4 tables. With clearly open tables and understanding the restaurant takes reservations, and there may be...a little wait she told us it would be 1-2 hours for us to get a table. Take your family elsewhere! We had a wonderful lunch outside with great food and service at Mr. Dooley's! Very welcoming and highly recommend the Irish pub!!More

We chose this place due to all of the great reviews and even our concierge recommended it. Sadly, It was one bad thing after another for us. This place is fine for a quick lunch or casual dinner but not a must do in Boston...by any stretch. Food: Lobster roll was very bland, smelled fishy and had very little lobster in it. I would expect awesome lobster in Massachusetts and honestly, it was the worst lobster roll I’ve ever had. French fries tasted like they had been sitting in grease for hours. Clam chowder was good! Salads Drink: ordered club soda and vodka. It was flat, apparently they were having a problem with C02 so he suggested I get something else so I ended up buying one of their expensive specialty drinks and it was not great. Waters served without ice and we had to ask for refills multiple times. Timing: our group ordered soup salad and entrees. Everything was brought to the table at one time sooo, husband had to decide whether to eat hot chowder or hot meal. Seats high top booth. No place to rest my short legs and hard to get in and out of. Temperature- it was a warm day and it did not feel like AC was on. We were all sweating in our seats. Bathroom- there were crumpled towels in the towel bin. Toilet paper on floor (just not attended) Service. Our waiter was just not real friendly or attentive.More

I also had the lobster Benedict. So, so good! The coffee and cocktail...were wonderful also. Clean attractive establishment and wonderful service. Highly recommend!More

Honestly, we were just looking for a place near our hotel with a good menu for dinner on a Saturday and made an OpenTable reservation here. When we arrived, the hostess said they were booked up and asked patrons to finish their meals in 90...minutes -- which is very reasonable (my wife worked in a restaurants and had to deal with parties that just lingered forever). It wasn't until we were seated that I checked the reviews and saw this is among the better reviewed restaurants in Boston. We enjoyed our tuna crudo appetizer, seared scallops, and fish and chips -- all were delicious. As we were leaving, a huge party was arriving and having problems getting all their chairs around their high-top table. I hope for the sake of the staff that this party didn't linger all night. All in all, very enjoyable dining experience.More

My husband and I had a great experience last night for dinner. I had the pasta vongole and my husband had the crab crusted cod. Both were flavorful, unique and looked as good as they tasted. Catherine was a great server. We liked our private...piano bar seats. We will be back again.More

The service was amazing and the drinks are really good. It’s very affordable for a downtown Boston bar and it’s in the centre of the city. I had the greatest time!

We had reservations for a Friday evening and were seated upstairs. Downstairs was extremely loud - couldn’t hear person standing next to me. Upstairs was somewhat quieter - at least we could talk across the table. Food - so good! Clam chowder was delicious and...filled with clams. Very tasty and decent portion! Had entrees of hangar steak and chopped salad. Both perfect. Dessert shared sweet potato donuts - yum. Elder fashioned was also good. Server was efficient and personable. Overall a good place with delicious food - we just found it very loud.More

We lucked out and found 2 seats at the bar for dinner when the restaurant was sold out. Delicious seafood and chowder - but skip the cheese platter.

Meter parking on the street. No valet that I'm aware of, check with the restaurant directly. There are several parking garages within walking distance.
