Admittedly it has been a while since I visited Mare but the disappointment still lingers. The food was poorly prepared and certainy not of a quality that matched the price point. I'm not sure what level they were aiming for. It would appear that the...More

Once we found the restaurant (they moved) we had a wonderful meal with business colleagues. Oysters, wine, fish courses were really wonderful. Service was excellent. The Italian style desserts topped off a lovely evening.

This was my fourth trip to Mare, but the first at the new location. It is a fantastic restaurant with extraordinary seafood, great service and irresistible deserts. There were four of us at a business dinner. The king crab leg appetizer was succulent and almost...More

The hostess had an incredibly poor attitude. Certainly not what I would expect from a classier Italian restaurant in the North End.

Went to Mare one night for drinks and a second night for dinner. Enjoyed the outdoor dining. Even through it rained, the canopy kept all of the diners from getting wet.

Very good service, good coctails, and which is the most important: delicious seafood. I tried oyster and lobster, and I was really impressed both by the taste and the visual. All this in the heart of North End, with limited, but very good view on...More

Beware the wait staff and their pushy approach to the evening's specials, all of which are total budget busters and not worth the premium they charge. Their new location, while energized, forces half the patrons to face the submerged highway beneath the restaurant - not...More

My husband and I were first-timers in Boston and we enjoyed it immensely - in fact we stayed an extra day. Mare was listed in some of the literature in our hotel so we gave it a try and are so glad we did. We...More

I ate at Mare during a recent visit to Boston and the oyster selection at the bar was excellent. Enjoyed the selection we chose, and then ordered dinner. I had the wild boar pasta which was so-so, but my colleague had a great seafood dish,...More
