We had to wait one hour to eat at this tiny restaurant but even a longer wait would have been worth it! Their oysters were absolutely amazing and the small menu of entrees includes some exceptional dishes. Great wine selection and very friendly staff - I would return to Boston just to eat here again!!

I live in Europe, and come to Boston once a year. Each time I try seafood restautants around. Thos one is outstanding! A bit pricey though.

Beautiful interior and bar area! Red leather and marble tables really added to the character and made me feel like I was in a plush London oyster bar. The food was great too. We cannot fault what we ate. The wine selection was good but, I was slightly disappointed of the lack of American wines; the vast majority were European.... More

Neptune Oyster is a small but classic place in midtown Boston, with a great offering of seafood. From different kind of oysters to lobster roll, this is "the place" to ear in Boston. Slightly expensive but it is definitely worth it. Overall a great experience. Tip: order Neptune's platter, you will be surprised!

Small, friendly a great little spot on Salem. Nice selection of MA and ME oysters on the half shell. The yellowfin tuna tartare is excellent also. Book ages because drop ins can wait up to two hours even when the street isn't busy. This place is always packed. Bring your wallet $$$

This place is a tourist pit but all the locals go here too! It is super small and located on a side street the size of an alley. Right near the entrance to Little Italy. THis place has a 100% seafood menu and it is really expensive, but worth every penny. The johnny cake is awesome and has crab, creme... More

Once or twice a year our family finds a restaurant which we refer to as a "Perfect Restaurant." It is a very high bar as needs to be perfect in general areas of food, service, and ambiance. Neptune joined the list this year. Really really good. We were lucky to have been there on a cold holiday weekday afternoon, as... More

Very Small restaurant and when we arrived told it would be an hour and a half wait. They gladly call you when your table is ready. This allowed us to have pre dinner cocktails elsewhere and watch the beginning of game 7, World Series. Sat at the bar and had the best bartender. She recommended several of the varieties of... The restaurant is a small and cozy building with only 20 seats approximately. Expect to wait for up to 3 hours to eat, however, the restaurant kindly calls you when you're place is next. I recommend going early to put your name down and then doing some sightseeing while you wait. The portions are decent and I recommend you don't... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
