Dinner here was great and very reasonably priced. The food was fresh and well prepared. If you want to taste authentic Irish food, they have a great sampler featuring Irish Stew, Cottage Pie and Shepherd's Pie (it's enough for two to share). They do have occasional live music. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn't ask for more for a... More

The bar looks great! Really looks feels like you're in a bar in ireland also the bartender was irish which is always great to see. The night we went there we were just going in for food but unfortunately they had closed their kitchen. We stayed for a drink and asked the bartender for recommendations, He was very friendly and... We had lunch at Mr. Dooley's as soon as we landed in Boston. We didn't have super high expectations, but were pleasantly surprised. My husband had the fish sandwich and I had the turkey wrap with avocado and bacon. The turkey seemed to be freshly sliced, and I think they gave me an entire avocado on my wrap! It was... More

We went here on our first ever visit to Boston. It was recommended by a long time Boston resident who was also an Irish musician. We enjoyed a lovely summer dinner here and found the atmosphere service and food to be very good. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Looked and felt like a real Irish pub, not just a theme bar. Good, hearty, home cooking. The live band, Dave and the Shades were great, playing a wide range of music.Good friendly atmosphere

We heard singing, went in to listen, and were drawn in by the pub regulars. Lively bunch - very friendly - capped off our evening!

They had the best fish and chips I've had in a long time! Their tartar sauce was delicious, too! I also had the Irish sampler (I can't remember the exact title) that had shepherd's pie, a chicken version of shepherd's pie, and guinness stew. All three were amazing!! We also shared the onion rings, which were very good and cooked... More

Friday evening was a great experience. The men behind the bar had terrific personalities & made you feel very welcome. Live music & cheerful atmosphere. It was next to our hotel so we popped by on two other days & didn't receive the same customer service which was disappointing. Although they always had a live band and music was entertaining.

Excellent--brings back memories of Kinsale, Ireland! We had the Gaelic Chicken & Meatloaf Sandwiches. Delicious! And live music--such a wonderful experience!

If you want to enjoy an Irish pub, this is a GREAT one!!! The service is so good, you will want to ask your server if there is anything you can do for them. Good food, friendly staff. You will feel like a "regular". I live in an Irish community in the Midwest, and have never felt as comfortable in... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
