Awesome food and staff!! The way an Irish joint in Boston should be... Bartender was friendly, timely and just plain old on point.

After getting gouged at several resturants in Back Bay - we stumbled into Solas and were very pleased with the pub grub options, great service and air conditioning (visited the hottest week of the year). We circled the block between Newbury and Boylston several times in search of a cheaper more down home option, and this Irish pub was on... More

We visited Solas on a hot summer day for lunch and it didn't disappoint. The AC was working fine and my Cobb Salad was fantastic. She has the Quesadilla and loved it as well. The Guinness tasted just fine!

We were looking for a place just like this after some intense shopping on Newbury and we were directed to come here. We cannot really comment on the food, but the beer selection was more than adequate and we enjoyed ourselves. The barman was a great host and if we had had more time we would have stayed longer. If... More

This bar is attached to the Lenox Hotel so is in a fantastic position in Back Bay. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and of a good quality. It has indoor and outdoor seating, great for people watching. The staff are pleasant and efficient.

I loved this Irish pub adjacent to the Lenox hotel in Boston. The food was terrific pub style. I had the chicken pot pie and my wife had the fish and chips. Portions were quite large and neither of us could finish. The menu was full of Irish pub favorites. Price was mid range and typical of Boston. Drink menu... More

Guinness and pizza Margharita at a table on the sidewalk on a pleasant Boston summer eve. What could be better. I wanted to visit Solas when I was in town for the Boston Marathon in April, but there were way too many people. It is on Boylston Street about 100 yards from the marathon finish line. The food was great!

We have passed this place many times when we have visited Boston. Finally decided to have a cocktail and beer there with my hubby. Delicious cocktail but so much ice I'm sure only a thimble full of vodka went into the glass and at $13 a glass far too expensive.

We stopped in a few times for both drinks and food as this was near our hotel. We liked the food had burgers and appys (the pretzel was a hit), and were not disappointed. The bar area is a little small not a lot of stools, but they do have an upstairs setting area for food service. Would defiantly stop... More

We stayed at the Lenox Hotel for a conference and Solas Pub was a terrific little spot to meet for lunch. Service was personable and the menu selection was very good. We went several times and would definitely go back.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
