A gem of a place! Old skool eatery far removed from the ubiquitous franchise places. Massive portions & value for money! It's currently undergoing renovation so seating is limited! Don't be put off by the wait, it's worth every minute!

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Authentic local diner. Highly recommend the French Toast. Friendly service. Family atmosphere.

The food here was alright, nothing special. The prices are fair. It is rather small and could become very crowded. It is right across the street from the prudential center

Food was delicious! Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We had to wait awhile for a table but it was worth the wait!

This place is surprisingly small and unkept. If doesn't look anything like the website but they were under construction when I was there. Service is what you'd expect in a Diner. We were told to seat ourselves, the only take had water on it. The server put the menus in the water and waked away. She seemed bothered when we... More

Not far from the Colonnade hotel, fabulous breakfast and great service. Try Alex's crazy Twos. Cooked breakfast and pancakes on the side. Has to be done.

Thornton's across from the Prudential Building has a huge selection of brunch items. The menu is so extensive it even feels a bit overwhelming at first. There were a wide variety of vegetarian and meat options. Once seated service was quick and friendly. I opted for a delicious vanilla amaretto French toast and my husband ordered a turkey club. My... Found on TripAdvisor. We missed breakfast at our hotel and was looking for a place that served breakfast past 11:00 am. This restaurant serves breakfast all day. There is sidewalk construction going on and the place is small. The food is excellent and the service is great. Amaretto Vanilla French Toast is fabulous. Special Scrambled Eggs - fabulous.

We arrived at Thornton's on a freezing cold Sunday morning, were quickly ushered in and seated at a table, given a delicious coffee and menus. We would return each other next 4 days because the food here was just that good. Alex's Crazy Twos, French Toast, Pancakes - it was excellent The service we received here was without fault, even... Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
