Seems almost closed from the outside but once you push the door in, you enter a classic dark pub with good service and plenty of variety on tap. Had a great Friday pm round or three with my friend; busy in a good way with surprisingly good service.

Such a cute pub, it's stunning. Cosy and welcoming. Food was incredible. Huge potions but totally worth the food coma! Very friendly staff all seemed to enjoy what they did and very tentative service.

I love 21st Amendment. Sure, it helps that it is the bar closest to my home. But I can hoof an extra half block and have several choices. First of all, it's what a bar should be. Simple, old but well- kept, charming, cozy and inviting on a cold day. Best of all, it's kind of dark. If you want... More

Great pub on Beacon Hill.....definitely worth the stop. Bartenders (expecially the ones from North End) are super friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stopped in on our first day in Boston last year. We were warmly greeted by another patron, a regular, who moved over one seat so my husband andI could sit together .As we waited for our server our new friend guided us through the menu, the burgers were delish and the beers iced and plentiful! Work right around the corner and the 21st is a great place for a quick weekday lunch. Service is quick and friendly and food is good. Favorite is the 21st burger with sweet potato fries. Also like the southwest salad and fish and chips.

We ate here on a Friday night before 6:00. It did get busy there. A small place next to the state house. Nice location. Good pub food.

Good selection with local options in a nice woody old style pub. Easy walking distance to most of the downtown hotels. A fun stop for a quick beer.

Stopped in one afternoon for a quick bite before heading out on a walking tour. Sat at the bar as I was dining solo. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was delicious (short rib quesadilla) and close to the condo I stayed in on Beacon Hill. It gets really packed after work, but I'd definitely recommend the 21st Amendment!

Twice I've been to Boston, and twice I've ended up in the 21st Amendment. There's a great selection of beers, hardworking and friendly staff, plus food that's as tasty as it is well portioned.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
