Stopped in on my first night in Boston after checking in to my hotel. The restaurant was dead and service just ok. That said, the Guinness was poured very well and the fish and chips were delicious. I'd go back.

We got a tip from our duck-tour driver to go there after the tour as we wanted lunch and were on our way to the Science Museum. We shared a Bangers and Mash dish and it was great! The pork sausages were some of the best I've ever had and the mash had that nice caramelized onion in it and... More

When you are on your lunch hour (which most people are during the week), the service needs to be a little better than it was for us. There were five in our group (three of whom are new to the Boston working world, so my husband and I were excited to take them to a new dining place. Unfortunately, the... More

My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a hot Friday in July. Service was adequate. Lamb burger left much to be desired. For one thing, it suffered from too small a burger to the size of the bun. In my opinion, the diameter of a burger should be at least equal to that of the bun. In this... More

We recently took out-of-town guests to The Kinsale for lunch and had a really great dining experience. Our server, Paola, was great (friendly, attentive, and efficient). For drinks, our guests both ordered Beers (Guinness Stout and Sierra Nev Nooner at $6.50 each) while we opted for a Pepsi and Iced Tea ($3) as we had to return to work. Our... More

This place is probably not the first place to think of for breakfast. I was wandering by and hungry so I took the chance. I was not disappointed. Service was fast and the meal was good. I had eggs Benedict on spinach, big mug of tea. No complaints, decent meal and a good price. The restaurant decor is Irish pub.

Went there on a Sat eve about 7 pm for drinks. Sat at bar and decided to eat there also. The place although not awfully busy seemed very noisy and raucous. It's a big pub/restaurant and seems popular. Saw they served Guinness and opted for a pint which was pulled and served rapid. We had fish & chips and steak... More

I ate lunch here with a large group of co-workers and the service was very good. I had the shepherd's pie and it was delicious...not everyone can braise lamb shanks! Lots of choices and everyone in my group was very happy!

My niece and I recently had a fabulous lunch at Kinsale … on St. Patrick’s Day as luck would have it! Surprisingly, we were seated almost immediately and greeted by our server, Nancy C (who was great, very friendly, accommodating and attentive). The menu is awesome … So many things looked appealing on the menu. There is an entire section... More

I've eaten here 2 to 3 times a week for the last 3 years. I normally order take-out and get the bacon blue burger which has been discontinued. I work right next door so it is convenient. I also work with several people who eat here. Yesterday (Wednesday March 16), I went there and sat at the bar and was... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
