Walking into this diner is like walking back in time. Red counter seats and booths and a neon clock say it all. Great breakfast menu. They served the best home fries we could find. Used by many locals and the waitresses knew them all. The fruit side was fresh and a joy to eat.

Was a little sceptical about going in. Looks a bit rough from the outside. But pleasantly surprised once inside. Place was buzzing. Really friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Mix of locals and visitors. Always wanted to try the American diner experience so that's one thing off my bucket list! Food was amazing. Try the banana pancakes. Won't need to eat for... More

Our first visit to a traditional American diner. Had breakfast here; friendly staff, great choice, huge portions and loads of atmosphere, with everything cooked right in front of you, and all at very fair prices. Fine dining it ain't, but if you want the Real Thing to set you up for a day's sightseeing in Boston look no further.

Maybe it was where we were staying, but it seemed like there were Dunkin Donuts and coffee shops on every corner, but not much else in the way of breakfast. Concierge at our hotel recommended this place, and I'm glad we went. Close to the South Street station, it was easy to get to and the food was good. Place... More

What a great experience! My girlfriend and I walked the short walk from the W hotel based on a recommendation from the front desk. From the second we walked in, the quirky, loud, enthusiastic staff had us so glad that we did. I had the pancakes with bacon and Karen had the eggs Benedict. We both left feeling stuffed and... We are rather late to this place as it has been around since 1947. Still I am very pleased to make its acquaintance. Must be one of the warmest welcomes in Boston when entering. We arrived for breakfast relatively late, but it was still busy and no wonder. The menu had all that we required and the food, when it... More

What an experience! From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the friendliest girl to the moment we left, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were so impressed by the slick service, delicious food and above all the friendly atmosphere. There was a wonderful relationship between the boss and his staff. His manners to them and to us... Had a Supreme burger that included a thick juicy burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, grilled onions and mushrooms along with tasty french fries. Service was good; portions were large, and the diner had a fun vibe to it. They serve breakfast here all day. What a great time and terrific restaurant!

This was about a 10 minute walk from intercontinental hotel. Service was a little slow but friendly. Got the super omelette and it was very good. Coffee and toast good too. The place is small but looks better in the inside than outside. Plays modern music over speakers even though it's theme is 50s style diner which was fine with... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
