We were seated promptly with a great booth, but it took 40 minutes for our food even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Would have been fine, but our three young children were tired after a day of travel. Kids shrimp meal was a bit spicy for children. Cornbread was great and there was lots of soft serve ice cream... My husband had the clam bake. Six hours later, and he is sicker than I have ever seen him. Not sure if coincidence, but needless to say we won't be trying this restaurant again. REALLY hoping nothing was done to his food because he was wearing a Colts hat.

Had a great experience made unique by the lovely couple sitting next to us. Our meal was very good. I hadn't had fried clams in ages and the wait for these was well worth it. They were Ipswich clams and they were characteristically sweet and tender and were fried to perfection. My companion had the chowder and the crab cakes.... More

This is a good place to go for good seafood in a causal setting. Nice selection of beer and a good menu. Great steamers and lobster. Great fried chicken as well for non-seafood folks.

What can we say - wanted to try a fish restaurant but really not our sort of restaurant. The food was OK, reasonably well presented, the staff were fairly helpful if a little dour and we were seated in a pretty dark corner although the place was not that full. Did note other customers were shown to tables next to... More

Wanted a restaurant near the Concert we were attending. Summer Shack had a fun atmosphere and a good selection on their menu. I had a special which had a really nice salad mixture and beautifully sautéed Cape Cod Scallops which were very sweet and tasty. Salad had too much vinegar which is too bad because it was wonderful but couldn't... More

For good fish dishes then make your way to this Back Bay eatery which serves fresh tasty dishes without fuss. We ate there on the recommendation of our hotel concierge and enjoyed our meals so much that we went back again. The menu is extensive & offers meat as well as fish. There was a good specials board too. The... More

Curb appeal is a big plus in real estate. This is a short walk from our hotel, so I asked the front desk and was told "it's a hole in the wall but our guests liked it.." We were pleased with our dinners. The service was prompt on a busy Sunday evening.

Good food. Selection was exactly what you would want from a casual seafood restaurant. Reservations recommended as it is popular.

We turned up without a reservation and they were so friendly. Sat at the bar and had a great meal. Large potions, friendly atmosphere, interesting and delicious food.

Thank Emma R

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
