We stayed at the Hilton which was a short walk to the restaurant. Wonderful service and amazing waitstaff so attentive & friendly. I had the surf & turf and the scrumptious bananas foster for dessert! I will definitely be coming back again.

Nothing spectacular and difficult to justify with so many options a few minutes walk in any direction. It's ok, but the price point is too high for the food you get.

Yes it was a Friday night but we had reservations through Open Table. We were a few minutes early so we had a drink at the bar. The bartender was nice and friendly and we should have just sat at the bar. Our waiter left so much to be desired. He wasn't attentive at all and didn't seem to care... More

Came here as a solo diner on a business trip after a long day. It's conveniently located as just a block from both Hilton and Sheraton hotels. This was recommended by a local as a go to chill out place and I took her advice. The oysters were definitely fresh and clam chowder was very thick (which I believe is... More

We stayed at the Marriott Copley Place. The walk over to Dolton street was mostly indoors, the mall + the Sheraton which was perfect given the weather. The Summer Shack is very casual w/regard to ambience and dress as the name implies. We started w/the new england style clam chowder which was heaven. We ordered the crab cake which was... More

Our concierge puts us on this restaurant. Casual restaurant with really good seafood. I had the steamers with a lobster roll and my wife had delicious salad. We would never had decided to eat here but our concierge said it was good and he was right. Prices are good for the city. If you are in the back bay area,... More

This Summer Shack - Back Bay location is convenient for Sox fans at Fenway Park, Boston Symphony and MFA goers or Berklee visitors. Once inside you'll enjoy a casual atmosphere and friendly service. The oyster bar, lobster tank and open kitchen demonstrate that the seafood is fresh, and the full bar promises a good time. The drawback is that you... More

We were in Boston doing college tours with my son. Our hotel was steps away from this place and the hotel recommended it for a casual dinner, good seafood. It was playoff season so we sat at the bar to watch a game and dine. We had a selection of oysters-- all delicious. My husband and I split a 2... More

We had server Dan who was very pleasant and took great care of us. We ate fish tacos and French fries and I had the scorpion drink. Everything was well prepared and arrived to the table quickly. Dan was an attentive server who checked on us frequently and refreshed drinks as needed. Prices were just right.

Came here based on a recommendation and was surprised at the high prices for oysters and lobster and fish selection. From what I saw there aren't any bargains. Decided to try something more affordable. A cup of clam chowder and fried chicken. Clam chowder had plenty of potatoes and not many clams. Fried chicken was advertised to be four pieces... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
