Overcooked entrees! Chicken and shrimp in my Pad Thai was so dry I needed a glass of water to wash it down. Same thing for my family's entrees. So disappointing!

We visit Jamaica Plain every July for about a week and Wonder Spice is an annual tradition. I have yet to find a restaurant where I live that serves Mango Curry. We love the tofu or shrimp. And definitely over brown rice. Yum!!!!!!

I came to Boston with my girlfriend for Memorial Day weekend and we tried this restaurant for regular dinner. The place is small and quiet, the service was good. Waitress was attentive. I tried the seafood noodles and this dish was very good. I also tried my girlfriend's dish that was the curry chicken, that was also good. The prices... More

I am so sorry to say it, but after hearing so many great things about Wonder Spice, i've tried it twice now and will never return. The first time my food was cold and the chicken really tasted awful/bad. I sent it back and got another noodle dish that was OK. Today i tried again with my whole family and... More

Early dinner Thursday proved disapointing 4 people total in resteraunt, food was cold as ice, pad thia hot in the center. Pic looks ok but tasteless cold food. Windows, tables , floor dingy. Restroom atrocious. We are in area frequently now , and would not return

I visited Wonder Spice two weeks ago with my brother and his wife. I ordered salmon choo chi, which arrived at the table about 10 minutes after my sister-in-law's meal. It was quite good, and the portion was generous, but the fact that our three plates arrived sequentially detracted from our meal together. My brother ordered gingered scallops and was... More

The vegetables are fresh but it ends there. The sauces have no depth, nothing is very interesting except the drunken noodles come close. Great location, but they need a menu overall and a really good cook.

If you would like to go to a reasonably priced, wonderful atmosphere and family friendly Thai Resuarant - this is the place. It is outside of downtown Boston in a funky neighborhood. Easy to reach by train or bus. The staff is very welcoming and the food is to die for!

Visiting the area, we wandered into the restaurant for dinner. The decor is pretty basic but it was busy, which was a good sign. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. Portions here are huge so a little caution is required when ordering. We were very happy to return for another... More

We wandered in to this Cambodian and Thai restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The place was quiet and relaxing, a typical Asian restaurant when its not crowded. The decor was very interesting with beautiful carvings on the walls. We ordered Scallion pancakes, ( a little too fried, couldn't taste much), golden triangles, (OK, not too flavorful), crispy Pad Thai,... More

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighborhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
