We got one milk chocolate and one single source. The milk chocolate was perfect. I noticed most of the menu items were dark chocolate based so if you don't like dark chocolate, you won't like the single source choice. Otherwise, really cute store, i like the environment over there.

Delightful chocolate shop with a small cafe serving excellent espresso drinks and pastries. If you come to Burdick's you already know about the truffle selection, and the wonderful gift boxes (if you want to really impress someone, pick up the large sampler in the wooden box). But did you know they also have a selection of 37 different bars (okay,... More

Such a delicious deserts you can pick and take drinking some exquisite hot chocolate (white, dark and Latin blended ) . Also has lots of exotic teas . I tried the white hot chocolate with a chocolate macaron, and my husband a dark hot chocolate with dark chocolate cake .

Went here to try their well known chocolates. Tried the champagne truffles which were amazing. Bought some to take back to friends in Texas. I'm very popular back home now.

I have yet to try the hot chocolate or pastries here but just have to write about the chocolates which are by far my favorite I have ever tasted. The shop and the packaging is adorable and I have never encountered anything but great service when purchasing chocolates. I don't find them to be any more expensive than any other... More

It was by happenstance that I stumbled upon L.A. Burdick as I was out and about in the city. A sign outside said, "voted best hot chocolate in U.S. by Food and Wine." As it was about 25 degrees outside, I thought this was exactly what I needed! Their hot chocolate can be purchased to drink in the store, taken... More

I rewarded myself with a stop at Burdick's to warm up after walking around Boston on a frigid Saturday. Their hot chocolate and mocha drinks are SUPER RICH. When ordering hot chocolate for kids, ask for a demi and some extra steamed milk. Same thing when ordering a cafe mocha. (I ordered a Burdick Mocha and disregarded the recommendation to... More

Just make sure you are hungry when you enter this portal. The drinking chocolate is amazing, very thick and moreish, however you won't need another cup of the nectar, as you will also have indulged in a chocolate cake. Some are lighter and easier to get through than others, you have been warned. The iced water is very welcome, great... More

I can't believe I'm writing a negative review about any chocolate, but Burdick's was so overpriced for mediocre chocolate. In the cafe I had a chocolate mousse cake which was tasteless, and such a small serving for $6. Then I bought some chocolates to take home. The caramels were all odd flavored, and so tiny, the signature mice were cute... More

I have only been to Burdicks once. I was visiting Cambridge when it was a zillion degrees below zero and I HAD to have something good to drink. You have never had hot chocolate like this - it is what you imagine it to be when it was first created: whole milk and rich pure chocolate, steaming hot. You cannot... More

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
