Lots of variety, everything fresh and hot

The coffee is standard diner-week, but the breadth of the menu more than makes up for it. I don't know how many omelette choices there are, it feels like about 50. My 2 faves--the breakfast dish with polenta, guacamole, tofu and salsa (cannot remember what it is called), and the cornbread French... read more

I try to go to Sorella's every time I go to Boston. The kitchen is clean. The service is fast and nice. The selection of omelets is amazing and on top of it, you can make your own. If you are in the area and looking for a place for breakfast, don't miss it.

After a few days in a nearby town on a business trip, I had a couple of days to myself in Boston city. Fortunately, my hotel didn't do breakfasts, so I asked for a local recommendation. Even more fortunately, the person on the hotel reception recommended Sorella's. If you want an authentic American breakfast, this is the place. A massive... More

This breakfast and lunch restaurant is beloved by locals. Don't be discouraged by its appearance, it is a neighborhood gem. Its tiny kitchen produces a dizzying array of breakfast and lunch food, all of it delicious. And in the highly unlikely event that you don't find a combination to your tastes, they are happy to build a special omelette for... More

Small neighborhood restaurant, cash only. Breakfasts with various local twists. The best part is the service with great sense of humor. A warm friendly humor that makes you feel part of the family.

My friend and I happened onto Sorella's by accident. We were out walking and looking for a breakfast/coffee spot. She had an everything bagel; I had bacon, eggs, and French toast, which is one of their specialties. Neither breakfast disappointed. My eggs were cooked to order, the French toast was tasty, and the bacon hit the spot. The waitress spoke... More

We went for lunch on a weekday and the place was not busy at all. For this reason, we had attentive & friendly service. Don't know about the weekends ... I've heard that it is the opposite. Small but airy and adequate space between tables. Single bathroom beside the kitchen is just ok. Large selection of omelets and breakfast food.... More

Went for breakfast at this place and was in awe for the many extensive options. The pancakes they had were very good! However, the small restaurant size meant that the service was rushed and tables were being asked to leave just as they had their last bite. Also, note that this place is cash only so bring enough! (Approx 10... More

Extensive breakfast menu, many options, specials and combinations. We ate there two consecutive mornings and the service was good with several folks taking your order and delivering food. Location is in a funky old building and the first morning (Friday) we were in a small ground floor room right off the street. The next morning we were in a second... More

This is a cozy neighborhood restaurant with friendly and attentive staff The menu is extensive and creative. There is something for everyone from vegetarians to meat lovers. The food is reasonably priced with generous portions. The raspberry butterscotch pancakes were a treat.

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighborhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
