The food was good and atmosphere was nice. But our waiter talked so fast and felt like he didn't want to take the time for us. I got the seafood ravioli and it was very good, but some in our group said it wasn't what they expected. Overall tho they need to improve on how they leave customers feeling.

We were 2 couples and went there on a Thursday night, we got a table real fast. The service was very nice and polite. The food was excellent, tasty and hot. The prices are reasonable (plates around 20$). It is not the first time I come to this restaurant when in town. Every time I am satisfied. We will certainly... More

Went there with my wife and daughter on a bitter cold Sunday afternoon. My daughter parked the rental car about a half mile away ($40) and followed her iPhone GPS to our location through the winding maze of Boston's Little Italy. She, like we, were warmly welcomed by the owner. I opted for the three course, multi-choice, prix-fixe dinner ($38)... More

There is nothing like homemade pasta - try the Bombolotti con Aragosta which is homemade Bombolotti pasta, tossed with fresh shrimp and lobster meat, sautéed with garlic and olive oil in a plum tomato sauce. Amazing! Portions are generous and chef also takes special requests if there isn't what you want on the menu and they have the ingredients in... More

Very good pasta dishes. Best thing is even though they have fixed menu entries you can customize your on. Like if you want clams with a certain sauce and type of pasta just tell them. Lots of made in house items. They now have full bar and an excellent wine list. Tonya (manager) seems to always be there and providing... More

This was such a great place to eat in Boston. It's exactly what I wanted for an "old world" Italian meal like someone's grandma would make! It lived up to it's reputation that other Bostonians have enjoyed for many years. The waitstaff is mature, friendly, experienced & accommodating. We asked for an item that wasn't on the lunch menu, only... More

We made a reservation for six at 8PM and hoped to time it so that we could attend a Celtics game at 5 followed by dinner. I commend the folks for honoring our reservation on a busy Saturday night even though we were 20 minutes late due to the game going into overtime. We had traditional Italian-American dishes, including lasagna,... More

We were walking around in the North End and really wanted some Italian food for dinner. We ended up at Cantina Italiana simply because we didn't want to wait forever for a table and this place wasn't as crowded as a lot of the other places that we passed. Initially I was a little concerned that some of the Italian... More

Honestly some of the best and most authentic food we have had in the United States. Itvasca very busy night but we were able to get to the bar to wait about 20 minutes for a table, so glad we did. Our waiter Luca was exceptional. Highly recommend this place.

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
