We saw the Galley Diner on an episode of Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel. We were in the neighborhood today so we thought we would give it a try. Great clam chowder in an authentic diner and the boys LOVED the grilled cheese sandwiches!

This was a very small but nice family owned diner. It's sort of tight inside but it's worth it to get the delicious food that they serve. Everything is prepared in front of you if you're sitting at the counter. I had the omelet with corned beef had inside of it and it was awesome. It was flavorful and well... More

This is my type of joint! Local fresh not fancy. I have been here before for great breakfasts today was lunch. Home roasted roast beef sandwiches sliced to order on a toasted roll. Nothing fancy just pure goodness.Warning If you want yuppie South Boston stay out because this is not for you! This is old school good diner food the... More

It looks like a small hole in the wall, but it's a true... Good things come in small packages! At first we were skeptical... But we ordered the Turkey club and Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sub and various breakfast foods... It was amazing Can't wait to come back

Breakfast at the Galley Diner was the highlight of my first trip to Boston. The "Southie Omelet" was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had and the entire staff was so friendly and made me feel like I've lived in Southie my entire life. It will be the first place I stop next time I come to Boston.

Went here after a flight to Boston. With the 4 1/2 stars, I had expect more. The service and friendness of the staff is outstanding. This is why I gave it a three. I would say that the food is quantity over quality. I had ask for my eggs scrambled easy and they came out with some a little brown... More

It's small and it does not look like much. Bar stools that are tarnished and some duct tape used. Décor from the decade before I was born. An exterior that is, to be polite, non-descript. A Jack and Jill style uni-sex toilet that serves its purpose but is not going to be featured in Conde Nast magazine anytime soon. And... More

This is a great little diner!!! It is quite small but is very welcoming. The food was excellent. My group ordered pancakes, was, bacon, sausage and hash all of which were amazing. The waitresses and the cook were very nice and you could tell they enjoyed what they do. The cook even stopped and told a few jokes. I would... More

Anthony Bourdain, host of the TV travel guide show, featured Paul and the Galley in one of his episodes. Fitted with 4 tables and a 12 stool lunch counter, it always seems to have a crowd, but somehow Paul always finds room. With good reason, the Galley is known as a breakfast shop. Virtually any omelet you can think of, western or eastern, sandwiches, eggs anyway you like them, the hand-carved ham right off the bone is to die for. Corned beef hash, sausages, linguica, steak, bacon, they are all available. Home Fries are actually that, homemade and the best.
Best of Boston awarded by Boston Magazine for 2013 and 2014 for Best DIner
