This restaurant is loud, crowded and difficult to get a seat at breakfast and lunch. Yet, I find myself still drawn to it. The sandwiches are so delicious and the sticky buns are wonderful. Everything is so good- so go at an off time. 1:45 was not too busy. If you want to brave the crowds- plan to eat your... More

My wife and I were visiting Boston and needed to grab a quick bite to eat. Not knowing where to go we gravitated to the Flour Bakery and Cafe on Clarendon because it was busy. We were pleased to find that the menu was varied and interesting. We ordered at the counter, found a seat and picked it up when... More

Excellent food and friendly staff, but the service can be unpredictable at this location; had the "curried tuna with raisin" sandwich twice (once it had no raisins in it whatsoever!). Also on another visit we ordered breakfast and it took about 10 minutes just to get a simple order into the tablet (and then the order came out incorrectly). The... More

Ordered coffee which was discounted because I brought my own cup (yeah), a egg bacon souffle sandwich, and a sticky bun. I ate it there, there seating is pleasant and there were free newspapers which felt so civilized as opposed to staring at my phone. All the food was excellent although the sticky bun was too large. A little pricey.... More

I arrived in Boston on business and hadn't eaten lunch. I looked on TripAdvisor for someplace to eat close to my hotel and walked to Flour. I had a half a lamb sandwich which was different and delicious. I also had a piece of coconut cream pie which looked great but wasn't. The cream part was mediocre and the crust... More

Hi there! Thanks so much for visiting Flour and for your feedback on the pie. I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy it. I've sent your feedback to the baking team at that location so we can reevaluate our bake times and thickness of the pie crusts. I'd love to invite you back in for another slice of pie, on us!... This is a very busy and fast moving breakfast cafe, where one orders at the counter. We found the choices for breakfast suited us v well. Bear in mind that on weekends it doesn't open until 8am.

As a carb addict this is my church - a busy, lively home to freshly-prepared breakfasty, bready awesomeness. I went twice and could have basically eaten every meal there had I been allowed! You don't want to be in a hurry though, it gets super-crowded.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
