Our last night in the city and celebrating our 20th anniversary! We chose Capital Grille via Trip Advisor reviews. We weren't disappointed, what a fabulous meal. Twin lobster tails and filet mignon. Super wines by the glass. Even tried a New Mexico glass of bubbles, really good. We had a lovely table decorated with fresh red roses petals and heart... More

Wonderful filet! All aspect of my meal were delicious! Ambience was wonderful for business or date night. Wouldn't recommend for the little kiddos. Valet parking outside and the location is great.

It was my husband's and my 30th wedding anniversary, and we wanted to try someplace new. The Capital Grille was recommended (my husband loves steak), so that's where we went. At first, although we had a reservation, our table wasn't ready. But that was about the only misstep in an otherwise excellent experience. For example, when I mentioned that it... More

We came here on a Friday night for the last night of "Restaurant Week" in Boston. Kristen was our server and we were impressed with her friendliness, professionalism and knowledge of the food and wines. She also joked around with us from time to time which we enjoyed. The staff overall is also very friendly and welcoming. A great example... More

Worth the short walk from the hotel in frigid weather. One of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Complements to the chef. Done exactly the way I like it the first time. Complete meal with potato and beans. Salad and desert. Service was wonderful. Well worth it. First time in Boston would love to know the... More

I had the NY strip with shallot butter. It was tasty but it was a small portion. As was the filet mignon my son ordered. Our friend had the 20 oz porterhouse which was a good portion though. The brussels sprouts with bacon were very good, as was the mashed potatoes. Our waiter (Brandon) was great. Very friendly, and very... More

Never had a bad experience at the Capital Grill. Having frequented the original Capital Grill in Providence for years we went to the new Boston location recently for my birthday. It is nice that it is so much easier to get a reservation now compared to the old Newbury Street location. As usual, we were not disappointed; Per routine, the... More

We went for restaurant week and still spunked $220 on dinner for two! The Service is excellent and they really give you an opportunity to experience the vibe of the restaurant. The steaks and food in general was delicious. Too fancy for me but great restaurant for a special occasion!

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
