We opted for the prixe fixe menu, which was delicious but way more food when we needed. The lobster linguini and chocolate cake was delicious!

This is a small little basement restaurant close to the Massachusetts State House. It offers prix fixe menu that includes appetizers, main and desserts. Four of us had the steak, duck, scallop ravioli and lobster pasta and they were all very good. The portions are...More

My wife and I visited Grotto when we dropped our daughter off as a freshman at Boston University in September 2012. We had a wonderful meal then, which I reviewed. Well, our daughter graduated this weekend (in three years, thank you), and we returned, this...More

We picked this place randomly and were so glad we did!! My boyfriend and I were seated exactly at our reservation time in a cute/romantic little corner of the restaurant. It's a quaint restaurant with red walls, small chandeliers, and candlelight. Food was phenomenal!! We...More

I had lunch here on a Friday. It was busy but our service was very good and the food delicious. The bread was fresh with a delicious, chewy crust and tender bread; dipped in olive oil it was superb. We had salads and mussels, and...More

This is our favourite eatery in Boston. It's underground/cellar location adds to the charm. The service is always perfect and the menu never fails to offer wonderful choices. A thoughtful wine lists rounds off what is a great dining experience. Highly recommended.

Sitting in the shadow of the State House and Beacon Hill, and overlooking Quincy Market/the North End, is Grotto. A very small (~800 sq ft), subterranean sister restaurant to the Marliave, the Grotto is a nice departure from the standard dining experience. With a Prix...More

Went there this weekend and there is no one to greet you at the door, or rather behind the curtain. We were never offered to put our coats/umbrellas away. The food was at best...ok! Maybe because it was restaurant week but we were there for...More

What an amazing little find. We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening- we didn't have a reservation, so we went early, and they were able to accommodate us. Luckily we went early, because later every table was full. They have an amazing prix...More

The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with
historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through

It is a couple of miles. I would take the Green Line on the T from one of the hospital stops to Boylston. It is a short walk from there.

Some on street parking is available in evenings and weekend....and there are a number of garages around that are reasonable for evening rates (i.e. $13.00 after 6pm).
