Having checked in the Lenox we were tired and in search of some decent food nearby. Had a look online and found Stephanie's. We arrived and it was already busy, but we were seated straight away on the outdoor terrace on a gorgeous evening. Atomsphere on the terrace was great, but some of the decorative lighting wasn't working. I ordered... More

Okay menu and okay restaurant. Everything is okay overall. Nothing is great. Including the service. Not nearly the best option in the area.

We were in Boston at the tail end of a "leaf peeping" tour and were blessed with a perfect 70 degree late fall evening. Maybe that influences my excellent rating, but I do have to say they hit the mark on other parameters as well. Beautiful outdoor seating, excellent service, (Hanna I believe) , and great seasonal menu. My husband... More

Given good marks by friends, we ( two of us) went on a Sunday afternoon. We were told a 30 minute wait outside when there were clearly 4 tables open. As time passed and they didn't fill, I hoped they would seat us. They didn't. We had a very nice waitress and a good omelet with asparagus and feta and... More

Stopped in here or a late lunch yesterday and were surprised to find a 30 min wait at 2:00. Unfortunately, it wasn't really worth the wait because once we were seated, the service was very slow and the food, while good, was not great/worth the wait. I started with the clam chowder, and it was served without a spoon. I... More

I got there shortly after opening on Sunday and the service was a little lackluster. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette and it was just ok. I'm going to give it another try for dinner, just in case I hit a bad day.

The restaurant is in a great area on Newbury street. It was cute and welcoming. The food was ok. The corn beef hash definitely needed to be crisper. Also the eggs were not fully cooked. It was an ok but expensive eating experience.

Our meal at Stephanie's on Newbury was good....especially the unusual shepherd's pie! It was in an acorn squash shell, so the presentation was lovely. My one complaint was the noise. They had the tables for two packed in very tightly, so it was difficult to have a conversation. We did splurge on the churro bowl dessert, and it was absolutely... More

We were a party of three. For a change a great service from our waiter. Not common in the States. Not fancy as almost everything at Boston. I thank you for that. Great food. Great wine suggestion and very expedite service. If weather permits stay outside. Better view that the "twilightish" athmosphere in the interior. But overall very good experience.

To die for: Warm goat cheese and bread. I know, that doesn't sound all that creative or innovative but it was delicious - the best I have ever had. Also, the red pepper jam/aioli combination on the turkey, guac and bacon sandwich. The jam made the perfect trifecta even better To skip: the monkey bread for breakfast unless you want... More

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
