There were 17 in our party on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Six were running the marathon the next day (Patriots Day, Monday, April 17, 2017) and the other ten were family/friends. I tried to book a restaurant on Sunday with very negative responses, but the folks at Florentine Café were more than willing to accommodate our party of 17. We... More

Had the best Italian outside Italy. Clean fresh ingredients. Has an amazing cheese ravioli. Sat in a table overlooking a little garden with Madonna. Very atmospheric.

The absolute best place in the North End. Adorable atmosphere, delicious wine, INCREDIBLE food! This will definitely be my "go to" place in the area. And the waitress was absolutely lovely as well! FIVE STARS

We were immediately greeted by a very friendly host/manager upon entering the Florentine Cafe and promptly escorted to a spacious table. Anyone familiar with the North End of Boston knows that spacious is unusual in most of the restaurants in thei neighborhood. We started the evening with the fried calamari. The crisp little calamari rings and legs were accompanied by... More

My husband and I were in the north end on a Sunday around lunch time. Surprisingly, the majority of restaurants in this area were closed! The Florentine Cafe was one of the few that was open. The place was packed so we sat at the bar, but it was ok because they had full meal service at the bar. Our... More

In what seems like an endless stream of Italian restaurants in the North End, Florentine Cafe stands out as a cozy place with excellent food. The menu is not too large, but has enough creative dishes to keep everyone happy. You have to get the Burrata which is out of this world. In the summer months they open the windows... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
