This quaint little neighborhood spot has less than a dozen tables and just a handful of bar seats, but the kitchen delivers in a big way. This is one of those rare places that the locals will walk to for a quick bite, while others...More

We had seen a review of Metropolis and stumbled across it on our first night in Boston. We squeezed into a tiny table in the window and had first rate steak and risotto. A lovely, simple, buzzy neighbourhood restaurant with great food.

Why does it seem so hard to find a restaurant that has the right mix of good food, the right ambiance and excellent service. Lots of restaurants get close, but often fail on one of the three. Metropolis seems to have found the right mix....More

Love this place. Very reasonable prices for the quality of the food. Risottos are great. It's very small, and there's no place to wait if they're full, so reservations are probably a good idea. Perfect location for before theater if you're going to the BCA.

Have gone to this restaurant once or twice a year for the past few years. Food is very, very good, but they never seem to change the menu much, if at all. More variety would make me frequent it more often.

Once again, Metropolis was excellent. One of our favorites in Boston when dining in the South End, we went for dinner with friends and enjoyed ourselves. Service was friendly and attentive. The chicken soup was shared by all of us. The duck breast special and...More

We love this little neighborhood restaurant, one of our favorites. The food is always good and the service is always great. They tend to change the menu a bit every season and everything is always good and fresh.
