The margarita pizza was good and the rigatoni with peas in a cream sauce was delicious. The gnocchi was OK. They serve large portions. The service is abrupt but not rude. The restaurant was very busy on a Monday night - make reservations if you don't want to wait.

After reading many, many reviews, we choose Antico for a late Sunday lunch after visiting some of the typical North End tourist spots (Paul Revere house, Old North Church, etc). Although it was 3:00, the restaurant was packed, but we did not have to wait for a table. Since it was a swelteŕing day (around 94 degrees), we were hoping... More

The food was fantastic I had the luxury of trying several dishes and all were expertly prepared and made with fresh ingredients! The atmosphere and service were good as well.

This is a hidden gem on a small street dotted with restaurants and ice cream places. The atmosphere was excellent with the owner coming to all of the tables, the food was spectacular and the bill wasn't bad at all for the quality and quantity of food. An excellent place to visit.

Cozy spot in Boston's North End, Antico Forno is a nice place to pop in for lunch while visiting the area. I have been there multiple times and the food is consistently good. The portions are quite large and I would suggest sharing a meal to avoid carrying around leftovers during a busy day of exploring. I am a sucker... More

Friends of ours living in Boston recommended Antico Forno and we were not disappointed. Everything is brick oven cooked. Atmosphere is quaint, service is quick and friendly and food is great. I'd recommend making a reservation just in case but we were able to walk in without one although it was very busy.

With brick fired pizza and pastas done in the same, how can you go wrong! Lovely food, huge servings, great service. A bit less touristy than those restaurants on the freedom trail.

The place is great, the service wasn't bad but the pizza and the food wasn't good at all. Is not an Italian Restaurant. It was our first visit to Boston and I was searching for a good Italian restaurant, I found The Antico Forno . But the truth the food has nothing to do with the Italian style I was... More

We were there on a busy Friday night. We had to wait since we did not have reservations, but were very content in the bar area. The wait ended up being shorter than quoted. We had a party of 5 and shared both appetizers and entrees. I can honestly say that all were very good! All 5 of us have... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
