It's not hard to find good Italian food in Boston. It is hard to find Italian food this good anywhere. (That includes Italy.). If you want a truly wonderful meal, with great service, and great atmosphere, this is the restaurant for you. Not only will you get great food at Antico Forno, but, if you're lucky, Francesca will be your... More

We collectively had four starters and four mains. Nothing had to be sent back, but nothing was memorable or priced according to the real quality provided. Soup was OK; rice balls should have been avoided. Chicken saltimbocca was not quite so-so (dry, leathery chicken), and so on. The venue itself was extremely noisy; service was good, not great. The highlight:... More

My son and I had dinner here recently while visiting colleges in Boston. My son started with the arancini appetizer. It was fantastic, crispy on the outside with creamy risotto on the inside. I had the arugula salad with shrimp for my appetizer. It was delicious. I loved it. For his entree, my son had chicken parmesan. It was really... More

Took a chance on this place while walking around the north end. Awesome margherita pie and really cold Peroni on tap. What more could you want?

We grabbed a quick dinner before seeing a concert at the Garden. One of the best FETTUCCINI ALLA BOLOGNESE I've had.

Consistently fantastic food! The gnocchi is amazing - oven baked with tons of melted mozzarella on top. I get it every time!

We popped in here whilst doing the Freedom Trail. They offer a varied menu including some very tasty pizzas. Great atmosphere as well.

We ended up our evening after walking the freedom trail here. The restaurant was cozy. The brick oven was situated in the back of the restaurant so you could watch the food going in to bake. The food was well worth the cost. We ended up splitting the main dish and ordering a salad. It was a good decision. The... More

we went on a Saturday night at 4:30 as we know how busy the north end can be, glad we did as we only waited about 10 minutes and after we were seated it was standing room only for a wait. food was very good, just the right amount so we weren't too stuffed. Husband had chicken parm which comes... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
