We visited Antico Forno the Friday before Christmas, as we were in town visiting family. We had a large group of 10 where relatives were coming in to meet us, so we thought what better place to go for a meal when in Boston than the North End! We chose Antico Forno because we had a few vegetarians in our... More

If you are looking for authentic Italian food in the North End, you need to eat here. Our family stopped in before a Bruin's game, and were not disappointed. Generous portions, amazing entrees, and the antipasto appetizer was delicious. All three of our meals were tasty- we will definitely be back to try different items! The service was excellent, and... Their last Zagat rating is from 2013. I wonder why. We had our reservation for 10 people and when we got into the restaurant the door lady took our names and sent us to the bar until our table is ready. The place was full . we could not get to the bar and constantly were moving away from the... More

My family has enjoyed dinning at Antico Forno for several years. The food is consistently very good. The menu ranges from pasta, pizza, chicken, and veal dishes. You can't go wrong with whatever you order. The service is very attentive in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Lunch or dinner, Antico Forno is a can't miss dinning experience if you're looking for... More

This is probably one of the best restaurants I have try in the North End, great atmosphere and very attentive service. My veggie pizza was to die for and my husbands chicken Parmesan looked out of this world!!! Definitely will be going back!!!

It's not hard to find good Italian food in Boston. It is hard to find Italian food this good anywhere. (That includes Italy.). If you want a truly wonderful meal, with great service, and great atmosphere, this is the restaurant for you. Not only will you get great food at Antico Forno, but, if you're lucky, Francesca will be your... More

We collectively had four starters and four mains. Nothing had to be sent back, but nothing was memorable or priced according to the real quality provided. Soup was OK; rice balls should have been avoided. Chicken saltimbocca was not quite so-so (dry, leathery chicken), and so on. The venue itself was extremely noisy; service was good, not great. The highlight:... More

My son and I had dinner here recently while visiting colleges in Boston. My son started with the arancini appetizer. It was fantastic, crispy on the outside with creamy risotto on the inside. I had the arugula salad with shrimp for my appetizer. It was delicious. I loved it. For his entree, my son had chicken parmesan. It was really... More

Took a chance on this place while walking around the north end. Awesome margherita pie and really cold Peroni on tap. What more could you want?

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
