Have frequented Tapeo many times on my numerous visits to Boston. We mainly dine there in the evenings - however,we decided to grab a lite bite for lunch last week. The food was very good but the service was a bit slack. The waitress for more casual and didnt seem to be too interested. She even forgot one of the... More

As the title suggests, easily the best sangria in Boston. Not too sweet, just perfect. The tapas are of great quality as well, the empanadas are my favorite. Great service too.

We had a great meal here. We sat outside and Newbury St is a wonderful place to eat and watch the world go by. Tapeo offered a large variety of tapas. Ours were beautifully cooked and served when you wanted them. There was no rush. It was busy but the staff were very efficient and attentive. Our waiter, Juan was... More

Boston hosts some really good tapas, and this restaurant is one of the contributions to the Boston tapas scene. They don't take reservations but have a wonderful ambience, and the tapa of the day is always a treat to look forward to

My girlfriend and I came here for dinner since she was wanting to try it. An important note about Newbury St and sitting on any sidewalk patios: MA law requires that if you have drinks on a sidewalk patio, you must also order food as well. Also, at Tapeo, they require that you order at least 2 dishes per person... More

We were walking around Newbury Street and it was just too hot. We stopped in for a Sangria and beer. Perfect. The bartender was very sweet. We were able to cool down. The menu looked faithful to the tapas places we frequented while we were in Spain. We hope to come back and try the food next time.

Food was good but expensive for the portion size. We split 3 things and were still hungry. The empanada was good but only got 1 with the order. That was surprising. We cut it in half. The duck leg in berry sauce was delicious and was cooked just right. The sauce was perfect with it! The lobster and crab ravioli... More

Good but a bit too expensive. Mane it's the location. Nevertheless good Spanish tapas like the ones you eat over there. Worth it

I like to be fair - some of the dishes here were better than others, some were very average. The paella was good, but not great, the gambas was not prepared properly. However, the meats were excellent, and if you're in the neighborhood, you won't leave disappointed, but it isn't epic.

Super disappointed in the service and the food, especially after a friend's recommendation. The food was either bland (like they didn't know what salt and pepper were) or sweet. The service was ridiculously snarky, rude and slow. The waitress never came by--we had to flag her down which led to sneers and dirty looks, even if we were just asking... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
