We're from CT, but have friends outside of Boston who raved about this place so went for dinner on a Saturday evening. Ended up upstairs, which was very loud, poor acoustics. Our server came over and introduced himself, but we had a hard time understanding, as he had a heavy accent and it was loud. We managed, although had to... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Abe & Louie's. The food was great, and the service outstanding. Steaks cooked exactly as ordered, and absolutely delicious. Sides and dessert fabulous as well. Menu went well beyond the usual creamed spinach and potato steakhouse fare. We've been to other steakhouses in Boston, and liked this atmosphere and location much more than some... More

You would never guess a famed steakhouse would have a delicious vegetarian option, but this place does! The roasted cauliflower steak is absolutely decadent. If you are a vegetarian and find yourself here don't be discouraged. They also have some great vegetarian apps (not vegan). Service is high class and the atmosphere is swanky. Dress code is formalish (no t shirts... More

We make it a point to come here every time we visit Boston. It's one of our favorite steakhouses in all the US. Their sides are delicious, the steaks are fabulous, service is excellent. Atmosphere is similar to other steakhouses and they have a nice bar area.

The food was excellent and the waiter was great. The reason I gave it 4 stars is we had reservations and still had to wait 5-10 minutes for our table. I understand they can not force people out but for a classy restaurant they should not over book so that when people have reservations they are seated on time.

Abe & Louie's is a fun place to eat. Typical decor for a steakhouse in the city. The steaks are good and cooked to perfection. My wife eats the salmon which is delicious. The service is good and the prices competitive for a large city steakhouse. One of our favorite places to eat in Boston.

You'll need a reservation to avoid the 2 hour wait on a weekend night. The server was attentive and apologetic; however, the bar and kitchen were slow. Overall, the meal was good; however, it was pricey.

Quite possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been to in terms of the service and food for the price. I won't make this a long drawn out thing. But basically the whole experience here was awful. A group of us had made a reservation for 12 for a group from our company. We got there, the table was set in... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
