The general environment and so on is great: rather like an old-fashioned gentleman's club complete with huge fireplace and wood panelling. We started with soups, my cup of French Onion soup 'au gratin' was very good but my wife's New England Clam Chowder was tasty but rather cool. We both had steaks for the entree (it only seemed only right)... More

I had circled Abe & Louie’s as one of my top three restaurants I wanted to eat at during my 5-night stay in Boston. During the weeks before and day of eating here, the Trip Advisor ranking seemed to climb by a few numbers, which was impressive. I arrived on Saturday evening for dinner and the place was busy, however... More

Friends suggested we join them at Abe & Louie's last week, as they've really grown to like it. The room is gorgeous, lots of wood paneling, beautiful chandeliers, great booths. Servers are largely old-time professionals. However,it was also hopelessly noisy and the kitchen was seemingly overwhelmed. Our salads took 30 minutes to arrive, and then our entrees took just as... My husband and I enjoyed everything about our anniversary dinner here. The service was outstanding, the food excellent and the valet parking convenient. We both got the filet,I got the smaller size and my husband the larger each perfect portions. The steaks were absolutely delicious. The sides of mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and asparagus were all tasty. The plate of warm... More

Walking distance from the theater district we enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner after a matinee. The food was delicious and the service was very nice, respectful and fun.

My wife and I took our daughter there because she was craving a steak! we shared chopped salad and a wedge which were excellent! What was more incredible were the steaks: The shared the 10 oz Tenderloin and I had the Sirloin, both cooked to our liking!

We stumbled across A+L's whilst shopping on Newberry St. Cocktails and salads were excellent and the servers very attentive and engaging. If I get the chance, I will return.

We dined at Abe & Louie's last Saturday. Restaurant was extremely crowded and noisy. 3 of us ordered the halibut with I believe was a chipotle sauce. Fish was extremely dry and even with the sauce was pretty tasteless. Spinach and Brussel sprouts that we ordered as side dishes were not cooked through. Prices were extremely high and everything is... More

Great lunch at Abe & Louies. Clam chowder was a must. Club sandwich was great but needed more or better bacon.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
